I have a similar problem, whenever I put my RQ into guard mode with orange or red awareness, he scans to the left and freaks out as if he has seen an object. He does this no matter how far away an object is, most likely a glitch because I have two red RQ's from sharper image and they both do the same thing!!
Hello all,
I just got my RQ red. I tested all functions and it is working ok. Except the Scan left/right for nearest object , I think.
When I press Shift (green and orange) he just got Head up and down and make a noise.
Is that correct?
Thanks
PM roboBG, he may have an insight on this one but mine the white and red one does the same. I't may be a glitch in our firmware which there is no chance to upgrade it as I know that corrects this. Maybe the new ones that were made have corrected this small firmware glitch. If anyone out there does not have this problem please let us know what your serial nuber is so we can look for that number in the next purchase of a Quad.

My new RQ seems to have this 'problem'; guard mode in orange or red awareness continuously looks to its right. (no big deal for me, not a dissappointment; so far my favorite modes are autonomous and running programs).
Also, the discrepency mentioned by Kinzao; scan left or right for nearest object results in just a kind of 'nod' (head up, down, recover).
Just-purchased Silver/Black RQ from ToyRUs, serial# 26007WS
(I am guessing, from the way that serial numbers usually work for Amateur Radio equipment and other electronics, that the serial number means 'production run WS' from 2007, and either FEB 6 or Julian Day number 260).
