What do you look like?

I'm just asking, and you don't want to, you don't have to, but I'm asking if you'll feel comfortable enough to post a picture of yourself on this thread. I will if you will.

Nocturnal on April 29, 2008 8:43 PM

I'm morbidly obese. This is me at the beach.

J. T. on April 29, 2008 9:53 PM

I like the pic nocturnal, but I was hoping it would be more of someone's face.

MrScott on April 29, 2008 10:48 PM

What I'm willing to share, wasn't what the thread starter wanted to see.

So, no pic for you.

Looks to me like my post was off topic ;-)

Those are great pics, everyone, but only markcra has what I really want. MrScott, if that's you, the close up to your eyeball was'nt nessessary. Just your complete face, and out of the darkness. I'm sorry if i'm not good with explaining things. Use markcra's example.

Hey Amber, where are you!

Nocturnal on April 30, 2008 1:06 PM

Oh I understood what you were asking, I just don't post pictures of myself online, ever.

J. T. on April 30, 2008 2:15 PM

what we look like is not imporant, what we think is and and what we do is evan more important

MrScott on May 4, 2008 6:13 PM

RoboDud, I've pretty much given up trying to decipher what it is you type in most of your comments. The spelling and grammar make them painful to read.

"how do you past pic"
"i cant do copy past no more"
"wut about the question"
"ENEY ONE"

The "add a picture" icon dropped off the standard post editor a few weeks ago. The new, simplified post editor contains very little support for anything other than typing. On a positive note, if you are using FireFox as your web browser, the simplified editor allows FireFox to apply its built in spell checker to your post as you type your text. When entering text with FireFox, any word with a red line under it is a indication that the word is not in FireFox's dictionary.

If you want to know how to paste a picture into a comment, I suggest you click on the "Try Advanced Editor" button.

Then follow the instructions in this article.

Moderator Mutterings

J.T.,

your comment regarding RoboDud's involvement with moderators is way off base, as is your request that he "drop out" of threads that you start.

Are you familiar with the idiom, "That's the pot calling the kettle, black?".

RoboDud has required far less moderator intervention than you have needed. The only RoboDud content removed from this thread was an empty post that he made. He's never prompted any moderator group discussions of how to handle his content or attitude.

The majority of the posts you see from me are not in my capacity as a moderator. I've taken to marking those "voice of the moderator" posts quite clearly with a Big Red header at the top of the text, like in this post.

My post regarding how his spelling affects my attention to his posts reflected my personal choice as a community member not to spend the time figuring it out. That statement was offered as an explanation for why he had not received an answer. That's not a moderator statement, that's a personal one. Spelling doesn't warrant moderation intervention.

RoboDud,

despite what young J.T. has posted, you are most welcome to continue posting on topic contributions to threads as they appear in RoboCommunity.

As you have heard here and elsewhere, some community members take issue with your innovative spelling and grammar. That lack of clarity on your part is not cause for moderator involvement. On the other hand, that lack of clarity may lead community members to skip your contributions without figuring out what it is you are trying to say.

J. T. on May 5, 2008 8:30 PM

Okay, let me rephrase that. Robodud, I apologize.

MrScott, I realize that in the past I've been "bad". But with my recent experiences with Peter, I personally believe that I have changed. I understand what I did wrong, and I wish to personally apologize to the whole community.

When I was speaking about dud's reputation, I was refering to using duplicate profiles after you told him/her not to. About his spelling, I wasn't technically trying to copy you. I was getting remotely annoyed by his grammar and typing speech skills that I was about to PM him about it. I'm sorry, I didn't mean what I previously posted. Please post in my threads. MrScott, I apologize to you.

Moderator Comment

The admins and moderators know you're working hard to stay on the straight and narrow, J.T..

We've noticed, and we appreciate the effort. Unfortunately, it does take time to clean up one's reputation when you've rolled in the mud. Like it or not, people have memories, and the bad is often easier to recall than the good.

Keep up the good work, and your good deeds will continue to wash away any smudges on the record.

Nocturnal on May 5, 2008 10:01 PM

As they say, you only get one chance to make a first impression.

Now, back on topic, and since I am feeling generous today, this is a photo of me, taken with my RS Media.

Billboard on May 6, 2008 7:05 AM

Wow N! You look fabulous! Have you lost wheight?

Nocturnal on May 6, 2008 7:48 AM

What can I say? the RS Media's camera takes of a few thousand pounds.

RobosapienV2-4mem8 on May 6, 2008 1:02 PM

He he, the secret lies there in.!!

Billboard on May 8, 2008 7:19 AM

Noturnal just became more mysterous. He is like the yoda of robotics and you cant even see him. Is he a ninja perhaps?

J. T. on May 8, 2008 11:53 AM

Thank you MrScott.
Now, well, my mom got a hold of this thread and she wasn't very pleased with it, so, I can't join in the convesation as often as I would like. But thank you for all your comments.

PS She said I can't post a picture of myself.
