Not for the sqeamish...

Poor Pleo wandered into the ComBot arena at the recent Maker Faire, and had an unfortunate encounter with Vicious Verdict who appears to be armed with a lawn mower blade. Many attendees with children were shocked and appalled. Next year, maybe Mio should take on Vicious Verdict! Or perhaps equipping Pleo with flame-thrower breath would even the match. What's your suggestion for Pleo?

That video is crazy. I could barely stand the suspense, when cute little Pleo was standing, unawares it seems, in the middle of the arena.

Don't really know what to say about that video, Human nature I suppose to destroy things,That's why we have wars.No match really was it!! It should have picked on something it's own size!!

People yearn after this robotic dream, but you can't strip your life of all meaning, emotion and feeling and expect to function.

I would not be happy to let my kids see that! its not pleasant, you can hear the poor blighters crying and screaming in the background. truly disturbing, Milw you should know better!

Methinks our pal, RoboSapien (of any variety), would have fared no better.

Iwould suggest a titanium armoured box to hide in!!! (for Pleo that is)

I think hiding in a Faraday cage while deploying an EMP weapon would be my choice of auto-immune response. Think "The Matrix" when the Nebucadnezzar decommissions invading Sentinels.

I was thinking a hunk of nylon rope would snarl up that blade PDQ, but the EMP is more elegant, as long as Pleo is Mil-Spec!

I had to stop midway because i got so bored. I seems like it would take Pleo 3 years to get from one side of the arena to the other.

Reminds me of those YoutUbe vids of a cute little bunny being fed to a snake.

But this video is wrong on so many levels!!!!!!!

;-)

Oh do I agree with you on that one RCopeh, I can't even watch it a second time. Also just heard that Sharper Image is going out of business and right now the Plato is 250.00 US but I'm going to wait to see if it gets under the 200 mark and holfully they will have some left for me to grab one. plus the R2D2 is 90.00 for you Star Wars guys and gails.

That video is just stupid, nothing funny or even remotely entertaining about it, and RCopeh pretty much hit the nail on the head with his analogy, if you look at the comments on that video you'll see that appearently two Ugobe employees donated the Pleo for that purpose without Ugobe's consent...... hope they were fired... or atleast horsewhipped.

GWJax - The Pleo is available now from pleoworld.com for something like $235 but only for a limited time (about another week I believe). You could also try ebay. I know some used pleo's are going fairly cheap there. I highly recommend picking one up. It did get a little boring after a while, but the steady stream of new behaviors, firmware updates, and user tools really keeps life in the little guy.

thanks for the info but our Sharper Image has it 209.00 right now and still has a lot of them so I'm going to go by the store every day until the have one or two and see how far I can get it down too. hech I'll even take the store demo if it is low enough.

GWjax - have you gotten your pleo yet? just wondering what you think of it if you have picked it up
