Shortly after I go RoboReptile the mouth stopped opening and it can't move its head from the upper part of its neck. The rest of his long neck is fine. It makes the eating sound but it doesn't eat. It is sad because so many things on him is still working. I have had him for two years and have no warranty. I am not savvy at taking things apart and putting them back together, nor do I want to try. I just want to enjoy this wonderful piece of technology.

Hey all, I just stopped by toys r us and found a brand new roboreptile on sale for $20!! Obviously I could not pass that deal up so I grabbed him (last one) and made out like a bandit. I never thought I would like it too much, but man is he fun to watch (unless he's on carpet, then he might as well be in wet cement). The dog absolutely hates him, which is a plus. I have yet to see how my ferret reacts to him, but hopefully the two will engage in some aggresive play. If you're looking to pick a reptile up, I would suggest hoofing ot to toys r us and seeing what kind of deals they have (not sure if this is a national sale or something local).

Just to add to the knowledge of Roboreptile, I have photographed 2 different Roboreptile motherboard configurations, for your viewing pleasure. The Mobo labelled G6020-1E has been previously documented in this forum thread, however, I post it here again so that is is easy to compare the two different boards. Also, the G6020-1E "build" of the reptile has a separate H-bridge (thanks to Nocturnal for that info) attached to each of the rear, hind-leg motors; it is shown below also.

On the day that I recieved my two new robotic predators, I had to work hard on my schoolwork. It even took till the evening. Well, when I do my school work, I like to hear background noise, whether it's music, my mom cooking, or the clunking of my vicious robots. Well, later that evening, (there was still light outside, quite a bit) I let loose my brand new Zeppy (roboreptile) in my linoleum kitchen. (Which is the only area in my house that has a hard, smooth surface. The rest of my house is carpet.) My kitchen is surounded by the linoleum laundry room, the carpeted living room, and our carpeted breakfast room. The laundry room is open with the kitchen. My old robots always wandered in there. But this night, when I set Zeppy free, he never even saw the laundry room. Well I set him loose in my kitchen, while I worked on my studies. Soon the robot's roars and clunks got fainter and fainter, until I could barely hear them at all. I got curious, and went to investigate. I was shocked to find the kitchen empty. (I do my school on the computer, and our...

Stop the HeadBanging! Mod

So here's my idea I would like advice on: My reptile and raptor have a disturbing habit of slamming their heads repeatedly into the nearest wall, chair, bookcase, etc. This behaviour unnerves me since I care about whats in their little, lovable noggins. Sooooo. What I would like to do is add some sort of simple lever switch to the side of the head, so that when it gets pressed the raptor will stop smashing his head into the wall. The basic conceopt is identical to the way Robosapien V2's oval hand switch "collision sensors"work. Here's a quick pic of what it might look like: The exterior white part could just be a wire (maybe part of a coathanger or something)and there would be one on each side of its head. I have some simple switches that would fit in his head, but how would I interface them to the beasts electronics so they would stop his wild head swinging movement? If I could get it to work on his head, I wouldn't mind putting some on his tail too. Sometimes he gets stuck banging his tail on stuff too.

In case anyone is interested, there's a guy selling a lot of THREE robotyranus's for 29.95$ on EBAy. I questioned him about it and he says that, yes, they are the full sized Robos, not minis. The only thing is that they only have 1 remote to share. No big deal. He had 2 lots for sale. I couldn't resist and bought 1 of his lots for myself. I plan to tinker with at least 1 of them, happy in the knowledge that if I mess up one of my reptiles, I have 2 others who are still fine. Just search for seller "sundaysseconds" or roboreptile to find it.

I have seen a few postings asking questions about the two. I have both and would like to share information with everyone. In functionality they are exactly the same. Both do the exact same in regards to movements and commands. They both respond and react exactly the same. I have listed some of the items and included some pictures. RoboTyrannus RoboReptile Item # 8063 Item # 8065 Remote - Same Remote - Same Hood - Same Hood - Same Manual - Same Manual - Same Controls - Same Controls - Same Physical Appearance of The RoboTyrannus is the same as The RoboReptile except it has 4 horns on the head, five spikes down the neck and a dorsal sailfin on the back. Both have made in 2006 on The User Manuals. Here are a few pictures: Hope this clears any confusion for future owners.

In a recent thread there was quite a bit of discussion regarding the (now) undocumented tracking function of the RSV2. The RoboRaptor also has this undocumented behavior buried in its cyber-reptilian brain. When the RoboRaptor sees the proper coded IR signal (no longer available as a button on the RoboRaptor Remote) it will navigate itself to where it sees that signal. It just so happens that the RoboReptile Remote's FEED button generates just the right IR signal to activate the tracking behavior. Here's a short YouTube video showing the RoboRaptor executing a turn and making a straightline for the remote in the cameraman's hands. The only control used in this video is the pressing of the RoboReptile Remote's FEED button. No other steering is being used. Press the button, and the Raptor comes on strong. Release it, and the RoboRaptor stops and sniffs the air.

I was playing with my roboreptile a few minutes ago when I was talking it started to run towards me. Then when I stroked its head (on the top of it) it started to make the noises it would when you tap its touch sensor in hooded mood. Then I carried on talking, it backed up and got on its back legs. I then said to it to stop and it got onto four legs and stopped this strange interaction. I'm a bit shocked and very happy and I needed to share this first hand information and see what you members say. Richardv2

I know a thread on the same neck problem of roboreptile in this forum, but what I want to know the way to fix it by ourselves. Mine basicaly doesn't turn his neck to the right. I can hear a mortor moving, and I can see the neck tries to move, but it doesn't go any further than a milimeter. The neck turns to the other direction alright. I will open my reptile, but I'd like to know more about it before I do anything stupid. So, please share your experiences and tips with the neck section here. Thanks!!

On their post christmas sale 2007, Argos.co.uk offered just GBP7.99 for Roborep. This is where I got mine in the early morning of the christmas day, but when I wanted to place my second order a little later, it was already out of stock... Anyway, this massive price cut and stock clearance might suggest a new reptile (or another new bleed of dino) is coming soon. Don't you think? -mine has a neck problem though, which i shall create a new thread.
