Dismantle the Robopet (question)

Hi, I would like to open up my RoboPet and disconnect the speaker cables (and basically mute it phase 1 and then add an on/off switch in phase 2), does anyone know what is the safest way to dismantle the upper torso part to get to the main board? I unscrewed the 4 screws on the bottom and attempted to lift the upper torso upper half but the head assembly is stopping it and won't let me separate upper from lower halfs. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks, Ix.

Hello out there, its my first time writing ! Can anyone help me find the name and make of an older style robot toy dog? I have a few peices left. It says it was made by WowWee in 2002 and the number on the side leg of the toy is MG2:0 The toy dog does not have a name printed on it. To make a long story short, we had this broken toy in our front yard for years, he was our guard dog ! Some teenagers took it the other night, broke it and smashed it up, and we want to get a new replacement guard TOY dog for the front yard. We named him " Darrin " So......if someone can please help us find out the name of this toy , and where we might even purchase another one, this would be of the greatest help to us. !! Thanks to all who care and can help us find this type of model toy robot dog. Bye !! Kid Kirby

broken leg

I recently found out that The Source was selling robopet on clearance, so I tracked down 1 locally. It was a display model that was all beat up and dirty. The rear right leg moves by itself without the inside motor moving, so I figure that the connection to the motor on the inside broke. When I turn it on, that rear right motor activates, but doesn't engage the leg. So I'm trying to open it up to see how I might be able to fix it, but 2 of the screws heads are stripped somewhat (I think the Radio Shack (Source) guys tried to do the same), and can't get them to undo. Has anyone had this problem with a leg motor connection, or can give advice on undoing a screw with a stripped head? Thanks. Other than that, the robopet looks pretty good actually. The skeletal leg appearance is growing on me.

Well here it is 1.program mode 2.trick 3.stop/sleep 4.trick 5.stop/sleep Keep doing steps 2. and 3. just remeber the tricks in order so you can say the trick between each pause and at the end of the program just push stop/sleep and say good boy and robopet will reply with a few happy pants. I'll be sure to post A video if anyone wants. Any questions about it and just PM me and ill be happy to answer

Hi, Just got my Robopet today, and it already fell off something. It sheared the head off one of the pins that holds its leg together. Superglue didn't fix it for long. I would replace the pin with a nail or something, but I haven't been able to budge the existing pin out. How can I fix this?

Robopet Questions

Hi, I'm Scott's son. I got a robopet today, and had a couple questions. First of all, what does the ping do? Sometimes he makes a ping when he is walking, and turns to the right. It appears to happen when his vision sensors are trigg ered, one or the other, but they both turn toward the same side. Wouldn't that turn him towards the obstacle if the right side is triggered? And second of all, the picture on the robopet website isn't of a robopet. Is this a v2, or something else entirely? It doesn't look like anything I've ever seen. Thanks!

So you've heard that Robosapien V2 interacts with some of the other robots, right? We put together a video that shows you RSV2 interacting with a Robopet. More like telling him what to do! It's pretty cool and if you think about it, also a bit weird to see robots just doing stuff among themselves instead of being controlled by or interacting with humans. http://www.robocommunity.com/article/10261/ The plan is to have more videos like this in the future. Stay tuned!
