Our goal is to play music on the Rovio's own speakers, so that we can control its volume from the Rovio GUI. From the Rovio_API_Specifications_v1.2, we successfuly used SetMediaFormat() to set Audio=1 and Video=1. However we are not sure what value to set the RedirectUrl variable to. We have a PCM file saved locally on our computer, and don't know how to designate this file as the one to play. Can you give us some pointers? We'll keep you posted on our progress. Thank you!

Hi there Robot lovers and Rovio addicts ..!!!! For the past 10 months, I have been working on a new website called Remobots.com. The idea is simple: there's a custom built arena (the RemoDome), there are a couple of deployed Rovio's (the Remobots), and there's free access for everyone (unless you don't like ads, in that case there's a 1 dollar payed version as well..). Anyhow, since this forum gave me some pretty good ideas when coding the website and since some of you guys pointed me into the right direction while being stuck at a specific point more than once, I thought it would be a good idea to give you Robocommuners a pre-launch glance at my website.. :) I'm hoping you could share your opinion and (if you like to) tell me when things don't work as expected / look ugly / look messed up in your browser, etc.. There are a total of 2 billion browser-type/system/screenres/browser-version combinations available out there so although I tested the website (which is huge by the way, around 70.000 lines of code) thoroughly, chances are big things still don't work quite well on all systems.. So, any feedback is GREATLY appreciated! -->...

I am trying to use the IR detector but GetMCUReport () suggests that the IR is off. GetReport() always has its flags indicating "home position" regardless of whether it's docked or not. I've tried the rovioremote software and it seems like it is not able to successful control the lights or give IR data. How does one go about doing things like turning on the IR or controlling the LEDs through the API. I've been accessing the Rovio through python and all of the basic features are working fine.

This thread is for the Wowwee Roboremote. If you have a good operating experiance with the Roboremote please leave feedback. I'm anticapting getting my roboremote up and running any day now. The software is exetremly easy to use, very fast, well designed and requires very little computer power to provide trouble free operation. I have the software installed on all my computers. (This way I can simply plug the roboremote into any of my computers, load my saved sequences, and automatically run the robot automations). The software will run trouble free on a computer with a 1.7GHZ processor with with as little as 512 MB of Ram. Yes, you can use the Wowwee Roboremote as a usb infrared transceiver, while it's hooked to your computers USB port, without batteries. (Batteries only needed on the go). I do not know if the remote has flash memory so save your work to a computer file, as all sequences stored on the remote are probably erased once the batteries are remove or changed. You can also control multiple Wowwee robots at the same time with the Roboremote. The Roboremote seems to promise an excellent IR range. No need for hacking either, it has...

http://rapidshare.com/files/318089730/TrackingCheck1.rar http://www.zshare.net/download/69603773fb483ad0/ The last week i have been trying to "check" if rovio can track a colour correctly and if the cameras works enough to add colour tracking to my app, but the result was not all good as i like it because there.s two problems, one the "light"..maybe in other site this its not a problem but here where i live there.s no enough ligth to make it work correctly, but yes, this its a common problem in robotics vision no just with rovio. And the other problem its the manual drive, i think cos theres a lot of firmware problems to make it work the movements speed because never its the same speed for the movements. Well if somebody wants check it up its the link, works very simple theres two check box one its to assign color and the other one its for tracking once chosen color, by defect the color values are assigned to pink or red my ball it.s pink but the camera shows sometimes an a beautifull fckng red :(. Upps..just one more thing, i know theres bugs in the code, but remember its just to check the tracking performance.s, and the last thing...

Just re-set up my Rovio (after finding a new, suitable location) and it's running great on the newest beta firmware. I think the support for audio in Safari and Firefox is awesome, but the dialog box that pops up on the Rovio isn't entirely clear - it's not as easy as installing VLC on your Mac and selecting an option to install plugins, since there isn't one. You actually have to download the browser plugins separately from this page - it's an additional package: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html I wanted to ask everybody on the forum what their experience has been with using VLC in Firefox and Safari, specifically on a Mac setup. For me, it runs on Firefox but not at all on Safari, after installing the plugin. (Note: I am on Snow Leopard, no doubt it could be a potential culprit.) My problem in Firefox is that it works, but with noticeable lag and video quality issues, as well as obstructing the system menus and borking the browser. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? The other streaming method works perfectly and I'll stick with that for now until I can figure out what I am doing wrong with...
