Let me just say this " OH MY GOD " this thing is cool and it's so responsive to the controller, especially the walking, you can literally move it to any spot you want facing any direction you want and it turns on a dime, i played with this thing for like an hour and i still didn't get to every command in each mode on the command chart, and it's really easy to program, oh by the way it does do it's own thing if left untouched for a few seconds. I don't know which functions i liked the most, all the push ups, head stands while it kicks his feet, or when i was tickling it while it laid on it's back waving it's arms and legs begging me to stop, or when i programmed it to go walk around my table and greet each member of my family with a different vocal greeting while waving it's hand. I'm telling you the smooth articulation of this... Then i installed all my batteries and turned it on to hear the basic introduction i've heard in youtube videos for the past 2 weeks, then i ran through the personalities, and put it in free roam mode for a while, then i was testing it's interaction, ya' know putting my hand in front of it's face, tracking objects and how it reacted to commands and sounds, movements. Well it did good in all those areas except one, it did not have any hearing, i double checked the manual and i made sure the hearing was on, i even checked it while the hearing was off in case they screwed up the command pathways, but nothing, so i thought i might have been doing something wrong so i called Wowee this morning with manual in hand and went through a few things with the guy but there was still no hearing response. So per the Wowee's rep recommendation i took out... I made sure it had Windows XP S.E. and took everything else off, and now, i just go to my spare room and install RS Media's software once it arrives, ahhh now i'm feeling alot better about getting RS Media, i can't wait for it to get here. I've been trying for over two weeks now to get the RS Media to connect to my PC so I can upload some MP3s to it. I have read quite a few threads about this problem here on the forum and this is what I have tried so far... Tried connecting in the normal way first via USB. ( No robot found ! ) and RS media was in USB mode. I then downloaded RS Media Suite 2.4 and also installed the latest framework, still no robot found. Read that I should purchased a powered USB hub, I did but this does not work either. I then purchased a SD card and tried installing the card into RS media and then connecting the card to my PC, this did not work with the first media suite I installed so I then ran version 2.4 and I can now transfer files to the card. Yaaayyy !! I thought, until I tried playing the MP3 on the RS Media. The MP3s are on there, and I can navigate to them and select them, it says it's loading the MP3 and then it says it's playing... BUT, no sound and the... Apparently about 5% of the code was still closed due to vendors not wanting their code out in the open. In cases where Sun couldn't work out a deal with the vender, they have actually gone back and recoded the pertinant sections themselves! This vendor issue is also what we have been hearing about concerning the problems releasing RS media's SDK... I wonder if this might clear the way or move things foreward somehow? Or is it completley irrelevant? What are your thoughts? I have a small problem with my RS media and i can not get its right arm to move up once i has been moved down and it keeps on rubbing off of its leg. The arm moves down on command but will not move back up under command. if I manually move the arm up it will move down again under command. Weh i switch it on after changing the battery's it seams to work fine for a little bit and then stops working. I have formatted the RS media by using the my computer system and formatted completly. it still does not work. please can you advise me on what i need to do now. i can not send it back as i bought it second hand. Made a few mistakes doing that; and tried to clear them, both by using the single step erase, and whole program erase modes. Both SEEM TO Work (the robot responds that memory is Empty); yet when they are triggered with the appropriate commands afterwards, the program I "Erased" Is still there & Running. Any Ideas, folks?? Today I thought I would charge his batteries and take him out for a spin. While making a feeble attempt to charge the 3 batteries in the remote (while still in the remote)....I blew a component in the remote. The component is labeled TC3. Can anyone help me with component identification or value. It may be a capacitor but I dont know. It is a farely large surface mount component. Is there a schematic available for the remote. Any help in replacing this component or .....if I have to...replacing the remote, will be appreciated.
