There are three relavant files and so far, I have finished one: robots.uir, this is where the product information is stored including details about its remote format. I have an add new device function, the ability to edit any of the fields, and also the ability to change the display order. I am next starting on the actual device UIR files. This is where all the actual commands are stored for the different categories. I have not entirely decided how I want to handle this section and will probably need some feedback. The third section, which I haven't started yet, but will probably be the easiest of all is the RCF editor. This is the action scripts saved by the roboremote program. Each line is an action, and the entries look like this: RoboRaptor,Backward,10 That's just robot name, function name, and wait time. Adding and removing functions as well as shifting the playback order is about all there is to it. The wait time could maybe be handled a little better from... However, the RoboRemote does not support the Tribot. The software is dated March. You can't even "teach" the RoboRemote new codes from the Tribot controller. The light on the RoboRemote flashes, so it is seeing the codes, but nothing appears in the user interface. I tried to send a message using the Contact Us page on WowWee Support, but no matter what I do I can't complete all the fields. It seems like it does not like my e-mail address or something. This is really frustrating. So much for the claim that it supports all "past and future" WowWee robots! Clearly this is not true. Does anyone know the codes for the Tribot? I have found that the codes are stored in text files with the filetype of .uir. There is actually a file for the Tribot, but it is empty. There are also images for use in the program, so it looks like they got halfway through setting it up and then never finished the program. Anybody got some ideas on what to do next? Directing them to this thread will probably make it easier for them to read and analyze the error. My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit!). I have had this computer since May of 2007, and I have had very few problems with it. I have installed a USB multifunction printer driver, a USB game controller software suite, etc., no problems. Again, this is the 64 bit version of the OS. I installed the software (clicking Roboremote.msi, recently downloaded from WoWee). NO problems during the installation. Attempting to RUN the application (from the desktop shortcut), I get *a series of TWO different* error notifications: (1) System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\WowWee\Roboremote\IRs\robots.uir' is denied. We all knew that wasn't literally correct, but I didn't know what the actual limit was. After opening the remote up, I can now tell you that the memory is provided by a 64k Atmel AT24C64A EEPROM IC. I would figure 90% of that would be available to the user, with 10% used for the processor. Of course, that is just an educated guess and is probably wrong. In any event, the maximum limit is 64k. When I finally got to open it, I carefully cut the side open and removed the cardboard insert. When I opened the insert up, I was a little disappointed. It seems WowWee is taking cues from the rest of society and cutting corners at every opportunity. I mean, of course, that not only was there no printed instruction manual (only a Quick Start Guide), it didn't even come with the software! You have to go online to the WowWee website ( www.wowwee.com/roboremote - careful to use only lowercase letters!) to download the interface application. The Quick Start Guide is very quick! In essence, what it says is: Download the software. Install the software. Run the program. Enjoy. You also have to download the PDF manual from the website if you want an instruction manual. Ok, enough compalining about the packaging. Once I installed the program, I decided to try it out on my RoboRaptor. I've never had a remote for that robot, so I've never been able to see him in action....
