On the Recent Discussion portion of the home page http://www.robocommunity.com/ the threads that are in "Off Topic" do not show any selected category. Threads in other categories show indicators such as "In: Rovio" or "In: General Robotics". Just a quirky little thing. Not a large problem.

I'd like there to be a "Latest Comment" link at the very top of the page as well as after the initial message and at the bottom. Many of the initial messages are quite long and this would save us from having to scroll down to find the "Latest Comment" link. Right next to the "Previous Thread" | "Next Thread" links at the top of the page would be great, or somewhere near by. -- roschler

I may be totally nuts, but how do I find articles? I can find "recent articles" and "top articles" from the main home page, but I don't see any way to access articles the way you do with forums. If I'm a complete moron, I apologize

MrScott said: f33dback said: Doesn't tell me where to buy one. True, but it does tell you that there was already an active thread on the topic, that you can participate in along with the other people talking about them. I just modified the thread header to steer this to the "Rovio" forum, rather than the RoboCommunity Lounge. Hopefully that will help other people find this Rovio specific thread in the future. Does the forum have the concept of "sticky threads"? Seems like there ought to be a set of threads always on top to address the common issues. Just my 0.02.

What about a feature that allowed us to subscribe to other member's contributions? There are several members here that are always starting up new projects that I am interested in watching, and it would nice to get an alert whenever they create some new contribution, like an article or a forum thread. Obviously, it would have to ignore their posts to other forum threads and only trigger on original content generated by them. Or, alternatively, just a way to be alerted when certain keywords of interest match a new contribution. These features might bring people back to the site more often and increase the level of participation.

I can't help notice that there are a lot of threads that I have read (and am even the last poster in), going back a while (not sure how far), that RoboCommunity doesn't seem to believe that I have read (even after I have re-read them). While wandering back through to see how far back this extends, I spotted something interesting on page 103. I don't really think that thread belongs there. Now for the most important question of all, the question that is on everyones mind... how will the affect my ranking?

If you notice a bunch of threads with a post from Change228 that has been deleted, there's nothing ominous behind it. A spammer got in the door, messed up the place, and needed to be dealt with. I did the deletes of the spam posts. The administrator, Peter R, did the banning. Have a good, robotically enhanced day.

Greetings. I've been noticing that several threads and articles have to do with non-Wowwee products (including some posts that are off-topic to the forum in which they are posted). Is the scope of this site expanding to include all robotics? Don't get me wrong; I think that all robotics topics should be explored. I'm just wondering if maybe some new forums or areas should be created to include these new areas if indeed they are permitted on this site.

Changes in 4.0 Community Platform Release

There are a few updates that have been rolled out with the newest release of our community platform, and I'd like to let you know how to take advantage of them! First of all, you may have seen in the last release that you now have the ability to add your country's flag to your profile. Now, if you'd like to see where everyone else on the site is posting from, you can click on the flag next to anyone's profile. This will bring you to a screen where you can see the flags for all users. Find people who are in your same country or area! You can see an example below. The second change involves the download area of the site. In a previous release, you gained the ability to post multiple discussions to a download. Now, by clicking on the "subscribe to discussions" link within each download, you'll get a notification when new discussions are posted to that download. We'd love to hear your feedback, as always. Keep on enjoying the site! Pete

In our recent upgrade to our platform, we've introduced some new features, and I'd like to introduce you to how they work. Rating Content Items First, we've added the ability to rate other content on the site, such as individual forum threads. You'll also be able to see average user ratings for each content item. Go right ahead and start rating your favorite content items, and help other community members find the best stuff! Update And Personalize Your Profile Second, we've upgraded the profile screen, and added the availability of some great custom options. Here's what you'll now be able to do: Add your Twitter username Add your YouTube ID Add your Flickr account All of these will be visible when other community members view your profile. In addition, you'll also be able to select the country you live in, and your country's flag will be proudly displayed next to your avatar! Groups We've also enhanced the Groups section of the site. First, you'll now see a sidebar on the right hand side of your screen, where you can access "My Groups," the groups that you are subscribed to, with one easy click. You can also see all members in...
