Hello We are approaching to a great milestone, when building a full custom cartridge is possible. But as You known - technical details are boring and uninteresting :)) So we need something flashy and eye-catching. And You, Yes - exactly You can do it :)) We need just a scenario of interaction and corresponding audio files :))

Robopanda gets cheaper and cheaper

Hello, As you may know the robopanda has been released for a couple of months now, the retail price was $149.99 USMD but when i went to walmart it was the same price, when i went to another walmart that was 2 miles down it costs $99.99 then when i went to another walmart about 1/2 mile down the price was outstanding at only $49.99 brand new with 12 in stock. Frist question how much money does it take to make a robopanda and pakage and ship it? Deduct that from the 50 bucks and you have their profit. Which i would asume is not much. now think about it, if they made it for 50 bucks and sold it for $149.99, they just made 100 dollars worth in one sell. I went to best buy the other day to check aout their roboquads and they were selling them for $31.99 and they had about 20 brand new in stock for 3 months........ can you guess how many things are wrong with that sentence? No one bought a roboquad in 3 months at what i believe is a Super steal for $31.99. Just Think, how cheap did they make these...

Robopanda cartridge solution

Have the Wowwee folks given any thoughts to a programmable cartridge at all? I was thinking of all the hassles of distributing cartridges around, shipping costs, etc.. Why not just make a cartridge with a USB interface, and let folks download content (story/song modules) for a small cost? - saves the company on creating multiple modules - save on shipping to stores - customers don't have to run to the store - easier to create and post content vs burning it to ROMs Personally I would see that as a win/win for both Wowwee and for the Robopanda customers... I wouldn't have a problem one with buying a 'programmable cartridge' then downloading content later on :) Just a thought Mike

I had bought a robopanda on ebay, but the seller was a scammer and didn't send it 3 weeks after I paid for it... I found out December 11 and was upset because it was a gift for my daughter. A friend of mine in British Columbia went to Wal-Mart there and told me they were selling them for 180 CDN... I'm in Saskatchewan, so I went to our Wal-Mart the next day, and picked one up for my daughter for 99 dollars, even though the sticker on it says 180! I'm glad now I had a problem with that seller, because I had originally paid 160 U.S. for the robopanda... and in the end all works out because I paid alot less (almost half of the auction) and my daughter will be SO happy on Christmas!! Thought others would like to know this!

RoboPanda Suggestions

Greetings programs! We recently bought our son a RoboPanda, and he loves it! Here are a few suggestions/comments we have: RoboPanda the robot is excellent, but it would be good if he had more cartridges in the future(I hope a few will be available) he seems to have much potential, but as he is now, he's a bit limited (less then a half hour of entertainment) PLEASE release at least ONE additional song cartridge! 2 songs are a good start, but more would be GREAT! Being able to play mp3s or other files would be a bonus... Also, he seems more suitable for younger kids (older kids are into more "mature" things, in my opinion) Thanks for creating another great robot! -TheDigitalAlchemist RoboReptile RoboPanda RoboQuad

Robopanda Videos Here!

The tireless Quitej has been keeping us all posted on the developments, reviews, and features of the Robopanda. This new wowwee toy will soon be commercially available, and the marketing efforts are revving up. Wowwee's two new robopanda videos are now posted on our community. So check them out. I'm curious to hear your comments. Here are my comments after watching these videos a few times: Two things struck me: 1) WowWee is clearly aiming at widely differing audiences with their different product offerings. Obviously the kids who will LOVE Robopanda are not the same people who are laying down some big bills for a cult object like Alive Elvis. That means, on some level, that many in the loyal fan base may say "Gee, that new product isn't for me like that old one was, is it?" 2) But speaking as a robot fanatic, I have to say that I enjoy the diversity and refinement of each of these products. Each one takes one slice of potential robot technology and runs with it. Dragonfly is a flying marvel of material innovation and minimalism. Robopanda is about cuddly and interactive -- it is vocally expressive and entertaining. And it is...

PCmag's robopanda review. "The most impressive robot wowwee has ever made." http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2704,2155495,00.asp by Lance Ulanoff "You've got to give WowWee credit for reaching. Its Robopanda may not exactly be the robot companion of your dreams, but it is, in some crucial ways, the most sophisticated bot WowWee has ever rolled off the assembly line. Some might argue that the larger, $300 Robosapien RS-2 Media with its LCD screen and humanoid appearance, is the real robotics winner, but I contend that the more affordable $169 Robopanda beats the RS2-Media hands down on "engagement."" Read More...
