Personality editor 2.13 blacked out, why?

I'm trying to play with the personality editor. Everything is blacked out. If I load a file a small grey box appears around the file and if I highlight one of the lines with name/description/path the same thing happens. Otherwsie everything else is balcked out. I haven't connected my Rsmedia to the pc yet. I'm trying to save it until Christmas. But the editor supposedly doesn't require the RSmedia connected to edit or create personalities. It's a Winxpsp2 system. Any fix? Thanks. Happy Holidays.

Robosapien RS Media - $149 at Buy.com and Amazon.com

(My apologies to Nocturnal in advance seeing as he paid a small fortune for his Robosapien RS Media). The low prices on Robosapien RS Media are no longer an anomaly like on WOOT. Buy.com and Amazon.com now both offer the robot at $149. Buy.com offers free shipping and if you use Google Checkout, you get another $10 off. Amazon.com also just dropped the price of the i-SOBOT $50 to $249. Crazy holiday stuff already, go figure!

Hello all, I just received my RSM yesterday and all seems well with it. I had some USB issues but got it working. I was happily loading some mp3s and photos, to experiance the media organizer. All was going well. Then I decided to load a personality from this site "celebrity bot". I unzipped it and put it into the RS Media Suite Personality forlder. Then from the Suite Editor software I uploaded it to the RSM. I think all was well but I decided I didnt want it in there and tryed to remove it. Not knowing exactly what to do I went back into the personality folder in the Suite Editor and deleted it using Windows Explorer. Then, Through windows explorer, I removed the personality from the RSMs memory, which appears as a removeable drive. I thought this would be ok. Now I cant seem to load anything into the RSM. Using windows explorer I am looking at the internal memory in the RSM (removeable drive) and it looks almost full. Shows me having 2 meg of 42 meg left in memory on the pie chart in properties. When I look at what is actually in ...

Mod IR to radio?

Greetings all. I'm not allowed to touch my new RS Media for three more weeks, so I've been poking around trying to decide what I want to do with it, spending too much time reading nocturnal's tidbits. High on the list is adding the bluetooth link so I can fiddle with the 'bot at the OS level. I'm not much of an electronics person, I can follow a map well enough though, so adding that shouldn't be a problem. This has prompted me to wonder about how to replace the IR communication on RSM, and/or my son's RoboPet and/or wifey's V1. Could it be as simple as soldering up one of these transmitters in place of the IR emitter on the remote, and the receiver piggybacked on one of RS's IR receivers? (piggybacked because I imagine RS's receivers are also his 'eyes') I've seen the IR radio tower extender doowhackeys, but would like a cleaner installation. Thanks in advance.

Linux users?

Anyone here run Linux on their PC? More to the point, has anyone successfully run the media suite via wine? I see it needs DirectX 9 and .NET, which might be fun to get installed. I know DX9 can be done (with much hoop jumping), still reading up on .NET (seems like 2.0 is no way, 1.1 sounds like a maybe). My PC does dual boot, WinXP and Ubuntu 7.10, so I can run windoze if need be.

Is there a driver needed?

I run xp pro. I connected the usb to the rs media bot, and then to my computer... and it says " One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. " I'm not a beginner pc user by any means. I have installed the software from the cd. I just got my robot this morning and wanted to transfer some mp3's from my pc to the sd card I stuck in him. Mind you.. hrm... I put a 2 gb card in him... thinking that even though 1 gb cards are recommended that it would then only use or 'see' 1 gb.. would this be my problem? I have been reading the forum, someone stated earlier on that perhaps it's only the matter of a driver update to make the bot see a larger card than just a 1gig. Has anyone heard anymore about this? Guess I'll try mp3 player line in instead to test the sound out on this thing... appears I can't connect via usb for whatever reason... USB works on my pc as I just used it this morning for another device. After rebooting the pc I tried ...
