WowWee RoboRemote Robot Universal Remote Controller. Wowwee RoboRemote is a universal remote controller designed to be used with any robot in the Wowwee product line controlled by IR sensors. Program and assign a sequence and then use it to control your favorite Wowwee robots, including Robosapien, Robosapien V2, Roboreptile, RS Media, and more. Use the accompanying software to program a sequence of multiple actions to your RoboRemote and store different sequences directly onto the remote controller. The functions on each button are completely customizable, offering a countless number of possible combinations the action is in your hands. Well that's the description. Anyone have any additional information, tips, instructions, know hows, smart allic comments, nerd responses, program sequences, secrets, or overall random things to say?

Any interest in a RoboRemote editor?

I have gotten quite a bit of work done on a program to edit the roboremote files, including adding new devices (if you know the remote code details.) There are three relavant files and so far, I have finished one: robots.uir, this is where the product information is stored including details about its remote format. I have an add new device function, the ability to edit any of the fields, and also the ability to change the display order. I am next starting on the actual device UIR files. This is where all the actual commands are stored for the different categories. I have not entirely decided how I want to handle this section and will probably need some feedback. The third section, which I haven't started yet, but will probably be the easiest of all is the RCF editor. This is the action scripts saved by the roboremote program. Each line is an action, and the entries look like this: RoboRaptor,Backward,10 That's just robot name, function name, and wait time. Adding and removing functions as well as shifting the playback order is about all there is to it. The wait time could maybe be handled a little better from...

RoboRemote does not work with Tribot

I recently bought a RoboRemote, Roboboa and Tribot. However, the RoboRemote does not support the Tribot. The software is dated March. You can't even "teach" the RoboRemote new codes from the Tribot controller. The light on the RoboRemote flashes, so it is seeing the codes, but nothing appears in the user interface. I tried to send a message using the Contact Us page on WowWee Support, but no matter what I do I can't complete all the fields. It seems like it does not like my e-mail address or something. This is really frustrating. So much for the claim that it supports all "past and future" WowWee robots! Clearly this is not true. Does anyone know the codes for the Tribot? I have found that the codes are stored in text files with the filetype of .uir. There is actually a file for the Tribot, but it is empty. There are also images for use in the program, so it looks like they got halfway through setting it up and then never finished the program. Anybody got some ideas on what to do next?
RoboRemote software/Vista problem

Due to the nature and size of Windows error reports, I will enter the full text of the error indication in a separate post. I will email WowWee, but I don't know if their customer support email entry form is 'friendly' for the error text, so I will direct WowWee customer support to this thread. [EDIT: I can't email the problem to WowWee support; filling in the form, clicking 'SUBMIT' = nothing happens] Also, I will call them tomorrow morning. Directing them to this thread will probably make it easier for them to read and analyze the error. My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit!). I have had this computer since May of 2007, and I have had very few problems with it. I have installed a USB multifunction printer driver, a USB game controller software suite, etc., no problems. Again, this is the 64 bit version of the OS. I installed the software (clicking Roboremote.msi, recently downloaded from WoWee). NO problems during the installation. Attempting to RUN the application (from the desktop shortcut), I get *a series of TWO different* error notifications: (1) System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\WowWee\Roboremote\IRs\robots.uir' is denied. [EDIT: see below, I...

memory storage...

In my original post, I stated that the sequence lenght was "unlimited." We all knew that wasn't literally correct, but I didn't know what the actual limit was. After opening the remote up, I can now tell you that the memory is provided by a 64k Atmel AT24C64A EEPROM IC. I would figure 90% of that would be available to the user, with 10% used for the processor. Of course, that is just an educated guess and is probably wrong. In any event, the maximum limit is 64k.

Roboremote is a universal infrared (IR) remote control designed for use with any of WowWee's past, present and future IR-controlled robots. Table of Contents: - Overview - - Out Of The Box Use - - Software & Programming - - Learning Mode - - Summary - - Useful Links- Overview Roboremote is a small hand-held IR controller that is capable of sending the proper IR patterns to control all existing WowWee 'bots, and will also be able to control future IR bots from WowWee. The remote itself has 4 programmable function buttons and a 3 level shift button. The WowWee icon in the center of Roboremote illuminates to indicate the shift level (green, orange or red) and flashes to indicate a repeating command. Roboremote also sports a small USB socket and comes with the necessary USB cable to connect the remote to your Windows PC (sorry, Macs and other operating systems are not supported at the time of this writing.) After loading batteries into the remote, you can press the shift button to cycle through the levels. After a short period without additional key presses,...
