Petition for RoboQuad v2. and ideas for features.

Hi all. Hello Wowwee! I would like to urge WowWee to consider creating a Version 2 of the RoboQuad. In my opinion RoboQuad is the best robot WowWee has made, other than RoboSapien. I believe Quad has the unique charm and personality that can continue to enchant people and thus could become a welcome staple in the Wowwee line of robots (and a consistent moneymaker for Wowwee). RoboQuad deserves a place in WowWee's continuing robot line because he/she/it is the only product that WowWee has that is really nothing more than a robot. It doesn't pretend to be a person, dinosaur, Elvis, or an annoying party friend. WowWee Robotics needs to have at least ONE true robot in its line. RoboQuad is very popular here on the boards and, I think, with a version 2 with cool, sexy, new features ( that do not detract from his original beeping, inquisitive charm) he could become something of a mascot for WowWee's Robotics line. So, If anyone agrees and would like to see a Roboquad V2, please say so below. Feel free to offer ideas on new features too.

Battery Meter

I know that this was suggested once before but I thought of a better idea. What if a L.E.D. meter was inserted into wow wee robots. You could have four L.E.D.'s and as the batery loses its charge, well, you get the idea.

They should make replacments!

Since Roboraptor's foot pads grind down so easily, I believe they should make replacment foot pads for them if they cannot create a material hard enough, and slippery enough.

Treasure Hunter Robot!

Here is a suggestion I came up with. I think it would be interesting to have a robot that can find burried treasure! Let it lose in a park and it will automatically drive around and stop when a metallic object is there. A more advanced robot would actually dig for the object! Well it would probably be able to dig only a few inches deep and in soft soil. It might even have a small tray that removes the dirt and leaves the coins or other objects found. It might need you to control it to dig up those things however. Mainly because it could try digging up the wrong object. It could be quite fun if it included a camera so you can sit in a lounge chair while you go on coin hunting expeditions. Range, capabilities, and battery life would be the big factors here. I would like it if it lasted a good few hours and had a range of a good 100 yards. Fastenjaw Just wanted to let you guys know that someone has aparently made this already. I found it while googling for treasure hunting robots. There was only one that I found at...

A Shock Lance for Roboquad !!!!

A few people i see have been trying to make a "stinger" for RQ out of dvd burner lazers i would be interested in learning more of this project as i am currently in the process of building a "shock Lance out of a $2.50 led Shock torch bought at a local jokes and gags store, a telescopic arial for the actual shocking lance and a slide on bracket for the back of RQ's head so far i have found the head is the most ideal place to mount the lance as u can move the head as much as you want via the remote, the joy of this mounting design it allows for rechargable detachable accessories that dont void warranty. Currently i have a headmount headlight for RQ on this connector style and a telescopic super magnet so he can collect my screws i drop lol and my shocklance (in Progress) another idea was mount on the front near the animation led so that accessories protrude out far enough that he can use them with out tripping his sensors but eitherway the device will be published on here very soon by me complete with pics .......

Leg/Feet Modz for Roboquad

I have found RQ has one big drawbak his feet wear if you use him on abrasive surfaces wich kinda limits the fun :( I went on the hunt for things to work as feet and settled on the chrome plastic reflectors/diffusers from garden solar lights, they just slide on then u tape em up with electrical tape make sure u have reset your rq's stance before doing this or the legs will be uneven and make him veer one way when he walks. The Conical shape of the reflectors allow him to walk on soft surfaces (sand etc) without sinking into it, and also allows for more agility in his walk so he turns etc better and can walk over obsticals better too the best bit is if the pads become uneven take him on cement and they will re-wear to be aligned correctly again depending on what you mainly make rq do of course. ill try to get you guys some photos of the feet pads and my modded quad.

The robot laws, as revised by Wowwee Robotics

1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm, unless the batteries run down and the robot forgets everything. 2) A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law or the human has been stupid enough to switch the robot off and on, or the batteries run down. 3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law or the batteries run down. --- What I'm trying to say here is simply that if our Wowwee pets had a permanent memory they would be top of the class, along with Aibo! It wouldn't cost much; they would still be affordable toys, and the target group would be much bigger. Any wievs on this? What if Wowwee received 10000 emails demanding a permanent memory for their next robot?
