Roboquad cannot detect table edges.

Many have claimed that roboquad can detect table edges. So the other day I performed a test to see if this is really true. Under very close supervision, (so roboquad would not fall and get damaged!), I intiated the walk forward command, and put roboquad on my kitchen table. I observed closing what would happen as he walked toward the edge. I gently took roboquad in my arms at the tables edge, as he was totally unable to detect the table ledge. My test was conslusive. Roboquad should be kept on the floor, He cannot detect table ledges. I've seen a many people end up with a broken roboquad because they leave their quad free roaming on a table. Not cool.

What are the symptoms of low batteries in a Roboquad?

It's is a very complex task to figure out. This because each Wowwee robot is so different. With other Wowwee robots, it's obvious when the batteries get low. But with Roboquad, it's not so easy to guess. So just when can you tell the batteries are low in your Roboquad? I uploaded this video so you Roboquad owners, can see the most common symptom, I experience with mine. Noticed how his LED's constantly flash and he can't do much of anything else? Again most common problem I deal with when the batteries get low. The minute I put new or freshly charged batteries in him, he's back to normal! This behavior usually occurs in my Roboquad, after 30 to 100 hours of use on the same set of batteries. Yes, he's amazingly power efficient. If your Roboquad starts acting like the one in the video, after several hours of use. It probably means, it's time to change the batteries.

I'm back + one question

I, J.T., have returned, for tonight at least. I have one question I'd like to ask anybody. When I recently played with my RoboQuad, I noticed that a few of his face LED's don't turn on. Are there any suggestions of how to fix this without dissecting him? If so, I'd appreciate the help.

Robo(Dead)Quad

I purchased a RoboQuad for my son's birthday at the end of June. Sadly, the rrobo started acting up within the 2nd month. The problem began with going to sleep and not waking up. But if I turned the power switch off and then back on, and then push the remote about 50 times, he'd often start up again. As he got sicker, I noticed that sometimes he would move his right front leg, and then immediately go to sleep. Now he is dead. I recharge the batteries, no workie. I recharge the remote batteries, the lights light up on it.... no workie. I email WooWee, and they respond, "Thank you for contacting wowwee. Unfortunetly, there is no fix or repair for the roboquad. We apologize for the inconvenienca." Does this mean I gotta throw my cute little RoboQuad in the trash? That would be sad. He was such a fun guy..... Any suggestions for things I might check? do? Thanks, Sam

Roboquad acts strange on slightly low batteries

Hello I just started playing around with roboremote today. Seeing how well it could control my robots. I was very happy how well it controlled all my robots. I noticed however that my roboquad started acting strange when the batteries got a little low. However I'd had him constantly on, testing controls and personality changes for hours. Sure enough I tested the batteries with my digital multimeter, and they had gone from 1.5 Volts per battery, to 1.2Volts. Very facinating to watch Roboquad in autonomy mode. So my question to the community is? Has anyone else noticed strange behavior from their Roboquad when the batteries start getting low? Or what are the symptoms of low batteries in a roboquad? Just trying to make sure he hasn't developed some problem in conjuction with the roboremote. Any feedback is helpful.

Does the Roboquad have a free roam mode?

I could not see any buttons on the remote control, that would suggest if Roboquad has a free roam mode or not. I did not see anything in the manual that suggested a free roam mode either. Maybe you have to push certain commands on the remote. So does any know? Can you put Roboquad into free roam? Any answers would be helpful. It ironic that the RSV2 and the RS Media are the only Wowwee robots I own that seem to have this feature.
