All caps? Anyway, you could repoupose it, it you want to make a new brain. (I`m guessing that`s what you mean by hack..)

Iquad here are the complete set of IR codes for the RoboQuad, I hope this helps you.

*Sighs* While the information posted from profmasons site is correct, it is lacking in a large number of technical details, without which, someone actually trying to use the codes would get nowhere.

I would recommend reading up on the IR coding scheme, at robosapienpet's site. Although the page largely relates to the V2, the IR coding scheme is the same.

Now, back to iquad's question. Yes, you can hack RoboQuad's scanner, in a variety of ways (the information above is relevant to several of those). Before going in to detail, I would ask you, what do you want to achieve by hacking RoboQuad's scanner?

Nocturnal *double sighs*, for one I did not get the IR CODES from profmasons site , I got the information on another site a long time ago and I forgot where it was hence I would have given that site the credit also it had a circuit that was built and using a picaxe MCU with a program. On another point this code is all over the WEB as well, with a little research iquad can find everything he needs for what he wants. I have stated this to him on another thread and once again he only post a one liner question. Unless he goes into more depth in his questions I will only give him the basics that he can work with. iquad is the only person I have a problem with posting so many useless questions and not being clear about what he wants. Once again I can provide him all information he needs about the Quad, but he must do some research first like the rest of us do. I’m sure you can appreciate that as you do the same until you really need help. I’m just trying to guide him down the right path of finding all information first before opening up a thread with a small bit of information and leaving us to guess what he really wants. Jax

I believe if you look closely at profmasons site, you will find the picaxe program. So I would suggest, perhaps, the site you can't recall IS profmason's site. If you did not get it from profmasons site, then the site you got it from, probably got it from profmasons site (the information you provided is identical to the text file that I linked to).

I would say the information is miss leading, not that you are trying to mislead, but that the information is miss leading. As such I provided clarification, so hopefully, someone else doesn't come along at a later date, look at it and get stuck, as can and does happen.

Being somewhat pessimistic, I don't really expect iquad is going to do anything with the information.

checking the site you are correct! But once again I did not get the information from that site! plus I agree with you about iquad not knowing what he wants he most likely will not use or try to use any information that you and i provided. Plus the information I gave will work if you have the proper hardware to send the 12bit  code that is needed to send to the Quad. Thanks for adding the other info for future members needing this info.

If someone has the proper hardware and software, then yes, all they need is the codes. If they are writing software to do it (as myself and others have done), then its seriously miss leading (not the codes themselves, just that bit at the top).

In a way its sad, I can recall back to when questions about how to control the robosapien and V2 using IR codes being sent from micro controllers was a semi regular occurrence.

Yes, and I can recall when computer enthusiasts debated the merits of the S100 bus, and electronics enthusiasts spoke about which Heathkit provided  superior performance. Later we were entertained by discussions of which jumper setting to use on peripherals and how to optimize the config.sys for accessing memory above 640K.

The only constant is change. For better or worse, things will change.

MrScott, Oh do I remember those days, Always trying to keep up with the new technology and always had to have the best of everything until it went out of hand. And when I say out of hand I mean that every month or so new computers comming out along with the software. I just could not keep up with it so I had to back off. and now the the MCU are out they are starting to do the same thing. Oh getting old is a pain because we just can't keep up with all of this so we just hit a plato and learn what we can just at a slower pace. It might just be me but I think all of use are feeling the pain of learning the newer MCU's and the programs that they use. Anyways it may take longer to do it but it's still fun..

Oh are you so very correct on the self programming, this is why research is nessary to correct any mistakes that may occure in what someone has posted and why you should always double check the codes your self like you and other out there do. No one is perfect and all humands make mitakes.  Compters on the other hand never make mistakes but the programmer does this is why debuging is so important on all applications.Tthe only time computers make a mistake is when the hardware is failing that a human has built.
