It is programmable in that you can record a sequence of move commands in the remote and send them as a stream. The arms are posable but not powered (2 joints with click stops, shoulder and elbow.) Likewise the waist and torso can be leaned forward/backward with click stops, but not powered.

That's the biggest let down about Tribot for me - he's just a chatty action figure stuck to that wheeled base.

I still can't wait for them to come out so I can see for myself the real potentional he has and what can be don with him. If you want to move his arms I'm sure yo could attach a super micro sub mini servo to them and that way you could control them with an external MCU

I don't think it's actually been released yet. The Wowwee store (and others) seem to often load an item into their store early, like a placeholder for when it's actually available for sale.

Check the plethora of Spykees for sale, even though it won't be released 'til August (so they say this time). Pleos were the same way. "Click Here to buy it now!!1!one!!!" and then "This Item is NOT AVAILABLE".

Another Wowwee example would be the new Bugbots. All are listed in the Wowwee store, complete with Buy Now! links.

I figure it's a "make 'em want it even more" type of practice (though it could be a pre-order thing as well).

Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.

your right the Tri-Bot is not released yet. I thought you meant that the Tri-Bot arm moving mod was available from them, I guess I missed understood. so I guess this will be my first mod when the Tri-Bot comes out, hehe for me.

Look forward to seeing your hack GW Jax.

Have looked at what you have done with your Elvis head, and am amazed at what can be done.

Thank you Deep Thought, Once the Tri-Bot is on the market it woun't be long for the arm hack..
As on the Elvinator there is a lot of work to still be done with him this is a big project but I'm enjoying every bit of it and can't wait for him to be complete so I can start teaching him how to think, or at least pretend to think on his own. hehe
