Reminds me of PEABot, except for the Audio, and PEABot was supposed to be able to carry a drink on its back.

Have you ever wanted to have your own theme song that would play everywhere you went? Kind of like that episode of "Family Guy."
Well, as of October of this year (2008), you will be able to. Tiger Electronics will be releasing their latest creation - A.M.P. (Automated Musical Personality). And unlike their past product line, this is no toy! The 2.5 foot tall, 15 pound robot is equipped with a hi-fi tri-speaker stereo system for superb audio reproduction. Signal source comes from any MP3 player (which you supply) through a standard 3.5mm stereo phono jack.
Locomotion is provided via a twin-wheeled Segway-style gyroscopic balancing system. You can either control the robot directly through the remote control or have it follow you around by pressing "Follow" on the remote and carrying it with you (reminiscent of the Omnibot Junior). There's also beat sensors that allow AMP to move to the beat of the music.
AMP is powered by six D-sized batteries with three AAA batteries for the remote.
Expected through Amazon.com, the Sharper Image and Hammacher Schlemmer in October, pre-sale orders are scheduled to begin as early as August with a MSRP between $400 and $500.

Key word being "supposed" there. Unfortunately we will never know since it never shipped. Something about a patent infringement with the segway. Hmmm?!?
AMP looks cool. Reminds me of a Cylon.
Ahhh... No. WowWee was the first company to license segway technology.

The reason PEA-Bot never saw the light of day (or so I have been lead to believe, since WowWee never made an official announcement), is that they were unable to reduce the cost and complexity of Segway technology
And I believe TriBot and MrPersonality are the evolved forms of PEA-Bot (can't remember where I read that though!).

Now that is a cool bot. To bad th video did not have sound so you could listen to the speakers..Plus I love one wheel bots as well. great design an love the head movements.
GWJax, To Hack and make mods on robots is a life style and comes natural and not by choice. If a robot has a screw to open it then it must be opened!
That puts too many thoughts through my head.
1) I love the wheels on that thing, with the chrome center cap and the low profile tires... All it needs is whitewalls and some pinstriping.
2) Or one could go the ridiculous way and put 22" spinners...
3) Is anyone else reminded of a Dyson vacuum?
4) What are the hands? It almost looks like they're turntables. If not they should be, then one could scratch the audio it outputs. That'd be slick :)
Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.

"Take control and be the DJ as A.M.P. Automated Music Personality becomes a virtual mixing deck. His distinctive touch pads serve as a way to layer different sound effects and scratches over your tunes..."

@GW:
I love his head movements too! Very fluid and organic - unlike most bots that simply turn their heads from left to right on one axis. In animation, we learn early on that adding a slight downward dip in the middle of a head turning left to right (or vice versa) will suddenly take away that "robotic" feel.
I hope Wowwee is watching this, and takes a few notes... although, the price tag on this guy is pretty high.
Oh Lol, Sega is releasing this guy too, just like Femisapien. Maybe Sega is trying to be the new go-to-guy for retail entertainment robots. "TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tiger Electronics, a division of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS) has teamed up with Japanese distributor SEGA Toys to introduce the future of music mobility with A.M.P. Automated Music Personality..."
Here's the official press release on the A.M.P. website. It has alot more info on the specifics of the unit - it has a kickstand that deploys automatically when the batteries get low or when you put it in "park" mode.

I'll be honest (and don't stone me for this), but I like the looks of Sega's version of the Femisapien better. I think it's the color scheme....
