Wow, fist vote!

My cats are mostly ambivalent about 'em.

When I showed my reptile to my toad, the toad flipped on his back in panic, headed the other direction as fast as he could, and hid under the counter. He just barely beat the reptile. And this toad eats green anole lizards that I feed to him!

PS Second vote!

hehe... third vote. I don't have pets, so I guess I can't provide a lot of input. Used to have a cat that probably would have gone haywire on robots - she definitely would not have been scared by them.

And J.T., if I was a toad, I'd run scared from RoboRaptor too - survival of the fittest, as they say ;)

My dog used to be petrified of my bots, but now he got used to them. As for my degus, the don`t know that any of my bots exsist, but they`d tear Mega Mech`s body to peices, given half a chance.

My two cats are not bothered by my robots, execept my robot cat!
Had to stop using that one as they use to start fighting :0

My dogs are curious about them, they like to watch them go, but they dont like for the bots to get too close, or get too close to one of thier toys.

I don't believe in tormenting my pets, if my dogs are obviously afraid, or act aggressivly towards one of my bots, i'll stop using it around them..... unlike some of the robo videos on youtube made by people who seem to get a kick out of tormenting and trying to give thier pets a heart attack, or letting them tear into thier bots..... sorry, just strikes a nerve with me.

The bird doesn't care, at all. The turtles think that the robots are trying to steal their food.

Although the turtles think that about everything.

Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.

I just ordered my first WowWee product yesterday - a RoboQuad (and this is my first robotics thing in quite a while, I used to experiment with simple robotics kits a few years ago...)

Can't wait to see how my cat will react to it.

Okay - a bit on cat psychology. If you have a cat that is afraid or annoyed with a robot, maybe this will be useful... (not really for a RoboQuad, but maybe the more humanoid robots).

Have your robot FEED the cat treats. Repeatedly. If the cat associates your RoboSapien, i-Sobot or whatever as an occasional bringer-of-cat-treats, then maybe it will get along better with your robots.

If you have an RS media, as a suggestion, create a personality using your own voice. Use that personality around the cat a lot. And bring treats.

I don't know if this would be a good idea to use with dogs. They get a little... 'uppity'.

As a dog person, I've always felt that cats were the ones that get 'uppity' :)

As a cat person (and owner (owned by?) a relatively militant tomcat); point taken.

BUT, I wouldn't expect a cat to try to CONSUME the robot! Hehehe.

Cat: 'Oh boy. Here comes my human's walking-talking-shiny-metal-thing, and maybe it has a treat for me'.

Dog: 'FOOD! EAT!'
