If you've shared, downloaded, or commented on RS Media personalities, you have to check this out.  We've recently rolled out some enhancements to the download system for RS Media personalities.  With this new system, you'll be able to:

  • Start multiple comment threads for a single download, like a "mini-forum"
  • Rate downloads
  • Sort downloads by rating, date uploaded, etc.
  • Add an image gallery with thumbnails to a download
Head over to the RS Media Personalities download page, and check it out!  Now might be a great time to re-discover that favorite personality, download the one you always wanted, and rate the ones you've already tried :)

So its not really a new place to share personalities as the title suggests, rather its an enhancement to the already existing repository.

Well, the previous place to share personalities was in the Personalities group, which has been taken down - there hadn't been any new activity there in quite some time. The downloads were added fresh to this new area.

The new downloads area is a different URL and location on the site. This downloads area will also be used for upcoming bots, since downloads can be categorized by robot, giving everyone a single place to browse downloads for all bots.

So, I had interpreted this as a "new place" for those reasons.

On a side note, you will still have uploads in groups, too - for example, if there's a group with specific needs or where privacy is needed (i.e., beta testing and such).

You make a good argument, but I remember the repository in both its groups form and its prior non groups form. To me, changing the UI does not make it new.

I really like that you can see what others have rated a personality, along with your own rating. Will this feature be being extended to other content as well?

it'll be extended soon, just have not had time to go all the way there

Nice to find this section (Personalities Section) of the site because I thought you took it out. I think it has to be very easy to find with a quick link button on the first page , because Wow Wee's one of the most interesting and user customizable robot is RS Media , and most people search new software , moves , games or personalities for their robot.
It would be better if we also had a working software for makeing new personalities ... but this is only a dream , not intended to push my luck :) ...

I talked in this thread , about those personalities included in BETA software RS Media PC Suite v2.0.5 and "lost" somewhere because they do not apear anymore.

My last post includes a link to those personalities ... maybe it counts ...

OLA Peter , can you tell us something about an update for RS Media PC Suite? I ask you because we do not have a working software to create something to be shared :(

Looks good to me, glad there are some more Personalities to down load for the RS Media.

I have down loaded two for now, and down loaded new Media Suite. Hope to get a chance to look at them at the weekend.

New to RS Media, on my second Robot as the first one packed up after a week.

had a look at the two personalities I down loaded; Rs Media Dance: It does not seem to do anything, just does a couple of moves then freezes.
RS V2;: seems to work fine.

The latest version of the software does not connect with robot, but original version from CD does?
