Todays Woot offering is the

iRobot Looj 120 Gutter Cleaning Robot

It's listed for $69.99 with $5 shipping.

Woot is a site that usually sells a single product each day. Their stock sometimes sells out fairly quickly, depending upon the perceived value of the deal of the day.

It's where I picked up my RSV2 a year ago for $80.

More of a remote control car than a robot, though. The remote control selects forward, reverse, and direction of the auger spin.

I'm getting one for actually using on the gutters!

Just don't stand underneath it. Usually when I clean the gutters, there is a lot more than just leaves, most of it unpleasant. The idea of it raining down from above on top of me in an uncontrollable fashion does not really appeal to me.

I'd love to know what the other entries in their internal contest was.

Heed Nocturnal's advice. Look what some poor chap had to say in part of his review of Looj on amazon.com:

"The Looj made a huge mess. I had to stop using it on one side of my house because it was flinging debris so far that it was hitting my neighbor's house. Not the neighborly thing to do. I had to hose down the parts of the house and gutters where I did use it because of the slime that it sprayed everywhere. I had to hose down my neighbor's house. I think I'm going to need to burn the clothes I was wearing."

If used regularly, I suspect there would be less gunk, since there would be less time for it to build up.

neet little invention of a robot! good thing I dont't have gutters so I won't fall off the ladder, ha ha. but if it could climb up a tube and make sharp turns I could use it to clean out my dryer vent which so happen to de on the roof. ya I know why would any one put a dryer vent on the roof. Well i'm still asking that question even after 16 yrs.

GWJax, To Hack and make mods on robots is a life style and comes natural and not by choice. If a robot has a screw to open it then it must be opened!
