This assumes you're living in the States, where millions of taxpayers have already, or will soon be receiving federal tax rebates of up to $600 for individuals and $1,200 for married folks. For our members from outside the States, please participate if you came into some "surprise" money and are debating what to do with it :)
For me, it's going towards a vacation. My significant other had her heart set on a specific destination, and the extra money will help us get there.
Are you going to save it? Take a fun vacation? Spend it on a brand new robot? Or maybe to fund upgrades for your evil lair?

Did you know that selling off long held assets in order to pay two college tuitions is seen as income? Uncle Sam seems to think I'm sitting pretty and don't need an economic incentive. My bank accounts say otherwise.
No money for me.

I'm sad that you won't be getting the rebate, MrScott. I've got my fingers crossed that others here won't encounter the same issue :(

With a burn rate of nearly $60K a year in tuitions, a lot of money moves through my fingers. Thank goodness I put stock away 20+ years ago in preparation for this pinch point.

They said on radio that some analyists believe the gas price could reach $10.00! They should have taken tax rebate money and built new refineries in North Dakota where supposedly there is more oil then in Middle East now.

If we get any, it'll probably go to the college fund (T-6 years and counting). Luckily there won't be overlap between my 2. The other possibility is getting a new canvas for our camper, which we bought used a few years ago.

Hmm.... lets see, I got a small windfall recently. I got my tax return a few weeks ago, since they gave me back about 20% to much money, and my accountant is having kittens, I am currently lodging an objection with the Tax Office.
What rebate! I owe 2,000 , I guess I make too much money and they want more so the rebate will be applied to the 2000 dollars curtisy of the IRS, I'll never see a check. I guess thats a real good stimulas package....
GWJax, To Hack and make mods on robots is a life style and comes natural and not by choice. If a robot has a screw to open it then it must be opened!
Well I will get a tax rebate of $500 this year and this is going towards my Lynxmotion J5. If I buy it through an agent in NZ it will cost $1700 Stock standard, with mods $2,500 So I will have to see if it is any cheaper through Trossen robotics or Lynxmotion direct.
People yearn after this robotic dream, but you can't strip your life of all meaning, emotion and feeling and expect to function.

My normal return went to the Department of Education, again, still :) S'okay, gotta pay em somehow.
I don't know if the Economic Stimulus Package will actually happen or not, will it go to DOE too? I was under the impression it was $300 for a single and $600 for married couples (which is still $300 a person)(my tax prep thingus said we qualify for $900, me, wife, and son).
If it shows up, my portion of the stimulus package will probably go towards more tattoo work. Not what Dubya had in mind I'm sure...
Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.
