This is an incredible piece of wearable geekery, folks - check it out -

50 Robots T-Shirt

Some of my favorite bots included in this shirt are K-9 from Doctor Who and Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide... and of course, we can't forget my all time favorite... MEGA MAN!  (I'm so glad they put him in there, in his famous jumping pose.)

Can all of you robot experts out there identify the others that are on the shirt?  :)

Very happy to see a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robot on there. Even happier to see The Wrong Trousers :)

Facing Rockem Sockem, is that Mecha Godzilla?

Above The Wrong Trousers, is that supposed to be Bender?

What I don't see is an Imperial Probe Droid (or R2 for that matter). Though the Star Wars droids would fill a shirt by themselves.

Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.

Yes, I think that's supposed to be MechaGodzilla facing off with the Rock'em Robot.

Yes, I think that's Bender just above the Trousers.

R2's there. Right side center, just inside the long leg. His buddy, C3P0 is a little lower on the left, next to ED209 and The Terminator.

There's also a StarWars attack droid right next to the Daelek in the lower right.

$25 is pricey for a t-shirt, but this one's calling my name pretty loudly.

The oldest media favorite I can pick out is the female robot from Metropolis. Anybody find one from earlier than that?

On a potentially sad note for K9 lovers, this notice clipped from the ChopShop site selling the shirt. The ChopShop site is having some page serving issues. I couldn't see a revised image that the notice referenced.

CORRECTIONS: The newly reprinted version of this design has had two amendments. The previous version included one character which has been determined to not be a robot at all. The previous version also included a robot dog that virtually nobody recognized. This character was swapped out with a new robot figure. These changes are reflected in the detailed image below.

Image below, MrScott? And can you tell if that is Huey, Louey or Dewey from Silent Running (SE from K9 in original image)

I don't know my robo-ducks well enough to tell which of the Silent Running bots it was. I did pick it out of the crowd though.

I recognize...
Marvin (Hitchhikers'), K9, Silent Running bot, Hal's eye (?), Vincent (Black Hole), Tweekie (Buck Rogers), Astro Boy, Johnny 5, Wall-E, B9, Rock-Em, MechaZilla, Tin Man, Robbie, Sentinel (Matrix), R2D2, Gort, Terminator, C3P0, Iron Giant, Metropolis Bot, Cylon (new style), Cylon (old style), Bender, ED209, Attack Droid, Wrong Trousers, a couple (3?) Transformers, Daelek (cyborg, not robot), pendant bot thingie from Buck Rogers, Maximillian (Black Hole), mechanical dog from classic BattleStar Galactica

Another guess or three....
Is that supposed to be a Martian Exo-suit with the long legged tripod thingie? And is the bird the mechanical Owl from that old flick (Clash of the Titans?)

I think thats the attack robot from RoboCop

And I think I see two maybe three of the attack droids from star wars.

Can anyone tell me what the owl is? I have a memory of a mechanical owl from a movie about the search for the golden fleece, but I don't think thats it.

Attack bot from the first RoboCop, Ed209, is there to our lower left, under The Terminator, Bender and C3PO. I don't see the bigger attack bot from RoboCop 2 (the one with the drug dealing psycho brain inside).

I'm kind of surprised I don't see the Ball with Four Legs from The Incredibles. Unless that's supposed to be it in the bottom center, just above Maximillian.

I'm thinking it's the owl from Clash of the Titans.

Well, that's very sad about K-9 - I guess "virtually nobody" doesn't count me ;)

And you beat me to the punch about the owl, MrScott - I loved the Harryhausen movies as a kid. Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger is one of my favorites...

Same Owl, different movie.

For those viewers who may have better luck deciphering a more traditional silhouette image.

I've reversed it, bumped the contrast, and sharpened it up a little.

Correct - actually, the mechanical beast featured in Eye of the Tiger is the Minotaur...

Couldn't find a better picture, but it's much more majestic in the film anyway.

These are the ones I can recognize, I can put a name to most, but not all.

Some of the other ones are familiar, but I can't place them at all.

You recognize the white ones, or the blue ones?
I've just about convinced myself that the big bottomed one, with the little wheels under that, is Rosie from The Jetsons.

*Laughs* Blue.

Go ahead and laugh, but some of the blue are unknown to me, and some of the white are very recognizable. I guess it all depends on your cultural references and how much a wetware movie archive you are.

Here's a pic of a couple of toys of characters from the Disney film Black Hole. Vincent and Maximillian are shown here, and are on the t-shirt graphic.

And here's a pic of Rosie from The Jetsons

Now theres a blast from the past, as soon as you said the name. Thats Rosie alright.

The blue ones you don't recognized are probably the ones I recognize but can't name.

Two other bots Nocturnal had as white...

Twiki and the robot pendant thing, Dr. Theopolis, that he sometimes wore.

Pick a blue one you don't recognize.

Interesting, I do believe we have two Marvin's from hitch-hikers. The movie and the TV Series.

And I do believe the top one is HAL, though he's technically not a robot.

Blue bots I don't recognize include-

The little, blocky, bot next to B9's treads. I'm assuming he's from a video game.

The tall bot directly below B9.

Ahhh.. good call on the TV series Marvin. Looks like a match to me.

Yup, he's from an old arcade game, I think his name is Dr something (I could be wrong on the name), though I recognize him most from his appearance in futurama (see about 4:50). The one below B9 is an old school Cylon from the original battlestar galactica.

Just for reference, one of HAL's eyes.
