What might be nice, to go with the new galleries feature, is a button in the editor that inserts a thumbnail of an image, with a link to that image in the gallery. I know it would save me a bit of effort.

Thanks Nocturnal, I think this would be a great feature for articles and other content items with lots of photos... keep the ideas coming!

sadly, it's a pain to extend TinyMCE (especially if you ever plan to upgrade it)...nice idea, but i'm not sure if we'll get to it any time soon

:) Unfortunately, worthwhile things are not always easy.

A glance at the wiki suggests it shouldn't be to difficult to extended TinyMCE, but then again, I've never tried it.

it's not hard to extend it, per say

the real problem comes in when you try to upgrade a hacked or extended version (the merge of new features vs. custom features cause problems)

I might look into this once we upgrade to the 3.0 version of Tiny (I was waiting for a stable release to jump to it)

Fair enough, till then, I can survive doing thumbnails the hard way.
