Ever fly a paper airplane or Dollar Store balsa glider?
Ever fly the upgrade to that, the rubber band powered balsa glider?
There are plenty of entry level toys that have unquided flight.

Agreed with MrScott - the FlyTech Moth is meant to be an "entry level" flyer, to introduce those who maybe aren't used to a remote control airplane, to the world of toy flight. It's a good stepping stone and would definitely be fun for lots of folks.

Especially if it turns tightly enough to go around a normal-sized living room more than once! Anyone seen them in US stores yet? (I was in WalMart a week or so ago but no luck).

Its definately available in general release here in Australia, the little toy store down the street has them.
*Laughs* Don't know. It was the middle of the night when I noticed them in the store window (without price), and since it gusting up to 100+km/h outside right now, I'm in no hurry to find out.
You can find them at Wal-Mart but I don't know how much, I had my hands on it to read the box and then set it back on the shelf.

Hi all, I finally figured out what that Youtube PalmZ RX hack of the Moth was all about. Here is the Palmz flier :
http://www.toysgamesgifts.co.uk/silverlit-palmz-i2453.html
The intent of the mod was to marry the RX features (2 channels , ascend/descend/turn right/turn left) with the FlyTech Moth. Video of PalmZ flier below :
