Every now and then somebody comes up with a pointer to a store sale, or posts that they are either looking to sell or buy a particular robot.

Is there any interest in a forum to collect these Buy/Sell/Swap threads under one heading?

You could still post your "Found a Deal on RoboQuad" notices under the RoboQuad forum, but you could also tag it under the "Buy/Sell/Trade" section, too.

I have made offers before.  And I have noticed others are occasionally looking for deals or trades.   While I don't expect much activity on such a category, it might be worth while to have.  I wonder if it would turn into a place for selling other stuff though.  Hacks, mods, and other things that others would object to (A.K.A Other robots and other non related things).  Might need to watch such a category to keep it under control.  Also how buying, selling and trading would be kept safe and secure is another factor.  I'm for it by the way.

Since robots will one day populate every aspect of your life, its a good idea to make friends with all of them. Otherwise your shower bot might decide to play around with the water temperature while you are showering...

I had considered asking for this too, so I'm curious if Capable has an issue with this type of thing on RoboCommunity? It could also attract more spam attacks (which we're starting to see an upsurge of, recently).

I agree with the above posts, If capable is for it so am I, Also if you hava a PayPal account all you need is the persons e-mail address to send funds. Easy as 123. Also what about ppl that may have parts on this forum that they do not want or are surplus or hard to get in other countries. Just a thought.

People yearn after this robotic dream, but you can't strip your life of all meaning, emotion and feeling and expect to function.

If I may ask, what do you mean when you say there mite be spam attacks?  Do you mean like someone posting there robot for sale over and over again?

As far as a sales forum goes I am all for it.  It would also come in handy for people who need parts to fix there robots because all they may have to do is look here.  There are so many robot hackers on the site that if you need a paret for a wow wee robot you are probably likely to get it.  And if not that at least find someone to take your broken bot off your hands.

We've been picking up a few spam threads hawking cell phones and such.

You may not have noticed them, because the moderators and administrators are usually pretty quick to delete them. New IDs that spam get banned immediately.

Opening up a "commerce section" does open up the door to folks looking to sell us anything that they could argue might be used in a robot.  Knowing the resourcefulness of this crowd, just about anything can find its way into a robot.

Just because I might use an mp3 player in my robot, that doesn't mean I want every vendor with an mp3 for sale to post on RoboCommunity hawking their deal of the day.

Thanks for the great ideas everyone.  This is something that we have discussed in the past too, and we're always looking to improve the site.  So keep the ideas coming, and we'll keep you posted.
