Only one hand is affected?

Probably a disconnected hand cable. It could be at either end. From what I've heard, it's a lot easier to check the end inside the chest than it is to check the one inside the hand.

Is it his left or right hand? And, if you make his head turn to either side (the action that opens the hand) does it snap back to the center position?

You'll most likely need to take the torso apart- if you remove the 8 or so screws from the back, one half of the torso shell will come off (the front I believe). then the hand motion mechanism will be exposed on the front of his chest. Send or post a picture of what you find!

Yes, people are trying to respond to your request, you have to respond to theirs.

Did you do what Milw suggested?

Here are some shots of what you'd expect as you open up your RSV2 torso.

There are eight screws on the back. Two in each upper shoulder. One on each side of the upper back, and one on each side of the lower back. In this picture you can see the screw heads showing because I've already loosened them.

This next shot shows the front of the RSV2 with the torso cover in place.

Here's a picture of the RSV2 with the torso cover in its hands.

A closer view of the interior of the torso. The arm cables can be seen entering the torso through their grommets at each side.

Here's a closer view of the hand cable attachements and mechanism.

My RSV2 seems to be hale and hearty. It was a Linens-N-Things bulk sell-off that ended up at Woot.com.  I picked it up for $85 shipped.

cool, I got mine at Linens-N-Things also but it is black and white, I got it for 49.00 after Christmass sale. But I got the one with crached wires.:(  milw asked me if I would do a cracked wire thread repair so in a few days I'll open up a thread showing everyone how it's done even though it has tamed down alot. It might help out someone out there with this problem and they just have not found us yet!
