Hello All, I've just joined this community and looking forward to some interesting discussions!

I've recently aquired a ROBOQUAD (hereafter refered to as 'R4').

This is my first robot, and I plan to give it a 'make-over', that is to say I will be spray painting the body-shell to make my R4 cool & unique.

I think the R4 is well suited to a paint job as it has a nice sculptured body & straight edges, making masking-up easy. Hoping to complete the job by the weekend - have made a good start already by removing the body parts, ready for spraying.

Will post pics of the painted panels - for your opinions?

would the last human on earth, please switch on the robots before leaving. Thank You.

Welcome aboard. There's lots of good information to be found in browsing some of the recent RoboQuad threads.

Is "R4" your robot's name, or are you planning on using it as a general shorthand notation for any RoboQuad?

You might have noticed that a lot of folks here use RQ as the shorthand notation for the RoboQuad.

RQ and Quad is all i can think of. Anyway, i was thinking about that too.

Tip:

Use glossy paint so roboquad is shiny. He'll look cooler than just having dull colors.

Last words I said to my Roboquad:
May the force be with you.
Remember the roboquad. I miss him.

Hi ScottE - Thanks for your welcome. Yes, I have named my RQ 'R4' - just sounded right Laughing Have already read some great articles reagarding RQ mods & can't wait to get started on my make-over project!

Thanks Lepy, I will be using Tamiya mettallic model spray spaint in two tones, then clear laquer, to achieve a mirror-like finish. Just need to decide which colours to go for....Undecided

Will post pics of painted body parts soon!

Lepy: Post a picture if you have one - sounds like you're gonna get 'creative' by hand painting your RQ , it might be worth something way in the future as a 'work of art' Wink

STEP 1: Body panels removed

RQ's Body Panels Off - Ready for masking-up...
