I called WowWee yesterday, expecting to get the messaging system, but I actully got someone! I told him my problems with both robots, and he said he'll have to talk to his manager, and engineers over in Hong Kong. It'll take a day from word to get to hong kong and back here. He said he definately will try to help me and he'll try to call me back Wednesday. This is great!

PS If anyone has a spare reptile remote, please tell me.Wink

I don't use my remote that much......

$20 and shipping can get you one from the WowWee Store.

Then there's the expected arrival the RoboRemote in June. That is reported to be able to be programmed to control any WowWee robot.

I know that MrScott, but I don't want to pay $20 for a new remote. Amber, would you be willing to give up your remote?

When you find those free remotes, pick up a Raptor one for me, okay?

Are you being fresh?

I'd say something more along the lines of "wry", "ironic", or maybe "sarcastic".

I knew you knew about WowWee Store remotes. You've helpfully posted that same information on other threads. Giving you your own advice was half the fun of posting. Getting you to state what you thought a remote was worth, was the point.

We now know you don't consider $20 the right price. I'd have to agree with you, there, as I haven't replaced the missing remote for my Raptor, either. In my case I have $10 invested in the Raptor. Buying a remote for twice that price seems somehow unbalanced.

A working remote has some value. What would that value be, for you?

Personally, I expect to pick up a RoboRemote or two when they're available. A $20 remote that can control all the robots is a better price point.

J.T. keep us informed about what WowWee tells you about your bot and how they are willing to fix or replace them. As of a spare remote I only have one and I'm not at this time willing to give it up until I have a remote that does it all.

Like you've never made a typo before. You knew what I was talking about. I made the correction for you! Better?

Normally I wouldn't mention it, but its a typo you make a lot. I have wondered if you are intentionally doing it.

If I recall correctly, RoboRemote has a limited number of buttons (I think it was 6), using it as a replacement

I won't mind giving up my remote. I barely use it.

Okay! I'll have to ask my mom if I can give out my adress. WowWee said they will respond by this morning, with news about my dinos.

BTW, I've given it some thought, and I think I'm going to get a V1. Whats your opinion? Is it worth $34?

I just just got an e-mail from wowwee. And I quote

"Hello Jake,

I got word back from our engineers and they told me that there isn't much that they can do in this case as once the head/neack twist it's impossible to replace or fix.

I spoke with my manager and she told me that because they were previously opened and well past our warranty (90 days from from the date of puchase) that we won't be able to replace the units for you. I pleaded your case and unfortunately they still said no.

Sincerely,

WowWee.Cry

So I guess that gives you free range to hack it. See what you can do. Almost anything can be repaired if you just sit back and think outside the box. If you want you can open it up and post alot of pictures and I'm sure with all the talent this group has, we can come up with some sort of repair. If I have too I'll do the same repair step by step for you with mine. GWJax

Thank you GW Jax, and RC members. My mom wrote up an E-mail lat night and sent it to them. I thing it might just change their minds. But if it doesn't, then I will open it up. Hey Jax, do you know how to dissect the neck? I haven't had any luck.

I just got an e-mail from wowwee. And I quote,

"Hello Jake, I spoke to my manager again and she said that she would be able to help out in replacing the items because you are an active community member. All that we ask for in return is some of the parts of the robots and a money order for the return shipping. All I would need is your address so I can give you a quote on the shipping cost.

Sincerely.

Jason.

WELL HOW DOES THAT SOUND, BUDDIES!Laughing Even if I get the new ones, I still may consider modifying the little beasts.
