This is similar to the shock torch i'm modding/re-engineering into a shock lance/cattle prod for RQ
Categories: Robot Hacks and Mods Roboquad
A few people i see have been trying to make a "stinger" for RQ out of dvd burner lazers i would be interested in learning more of this project as i am currently in the process of building a "shock Lance out of a $2.50 led Shock torch bought at a local jokes and gags store, a telescopic arial for the actual shocking lance and a slide on bracket for the back of RQ's head so far i have found the head is the most ideal place to mount the lance as u can move the head as much as you want via the remote, the joy of this mounting design it allows for rechargable detachable accessories that dont void warranty. Currently i have a headmount headlight for RQ on this connector style and a telescopic super magnet so he can collect my screws i drop lol and my shocklance (in Progress) another idea was mount on the front near the animation led so that accessories protrude out far enough that he can use them with out tripping his sensors but eitherway the device will be published on here very soon by me complete with pics .......

I don't know anything about those novelty shock devices, but I do know that the flash charging circuitry from a single use camera is powerful enough to get your attention if you discharge it through your fingers when trying to hack something with the strobe.

True true but the 220 uf cap is slow to charge and is noisy but yer if the shock torch doesnt prevail thats my next experiment as they are very easy to extract and cheap only real killer is in downsizing it.
I gather you have made the same mistake i did and touched the stobe connectors and got a very big surprise :P I used to wake my cousin up like that too lol...
Thankyou for your suggestion please keep em coming !!!!!
Good Job. Your making little RQ into a weapon.
Keep the robotic dreams,
