I have found RQ has one big drawbak his feet wear if you use him on abrasive surfaces wich kinda limits the fun :(

I went on the hunt for things to work as feet and settled on the chrome plastic reflectors/diffusers from garden solar lights, they just slide on then u tape em up with electrical tape make sure u have reset your rq's stance before doing this or the legs will be uneven and make him veer one way when he walks.

The Conical shape of the reflectors allow him to walk on soft surfaces (sand etc) without sinking into it, and also allows for more agility in his walk so he turns etc better and can walk over obsticals better too the best bit is if the pads become uneven take him on cement and they will re-wear to be aligned correctly again depending on what you mainly make rq do of course. ill try to get you guys some photos of the feet pads and my modded quad.

Hot glue

I never even thought of that !! Thankyou so much :)

Ill do that now and ill put a outdoors terrain vid on here so you can see the wearing patterns

February 27, 2008 10:16 PM

In case something happens to your quad, I wouldn't suggest the use of hot glue. It can be painful to scrape off, and you'll scratch the paint trying to get it off. Of course the choice is yours.

I'm sorta thinking hard on the hot glue idea too :(

What else could we use?

February 27, 2008 10:40 PM

I've never had any trouble removing hotglue (off plastic), I find that if you pull gently, but persistantly, it peels right off.

kk digging out my glue gun ill give this a shot

February 27, 2008 11:42 PM

Hot glue works great. All you need is a hair dryer to soften it up again, and it peels right off.

I use it for all sorts of stuff that needs to stay stuck, but allows me to dissassemble when needed.

great news as my tape just let go on one foot lol

February 28, 2008 7:24 PM

Lol i cant find my hot glue gun :( will keep posting my progress as it goes guys

February 29, 2008 7:06 PM

Ok results of hot glue prooves succsessfull !!!!!!!! The material RQ is made out of allows hot glue to hold on when required and will just peel str8 off when desired ....in conclusion my feet mods have been running on rq for about 2 days now with no problems ive noticed.....i found he wont fall over anymore either !!!!!!!
