This robot has not had much coverage, but it is quite the machine.  The robots navigation is based on Roomba, even has the same sensor for infrared docking etc.  The docking can take some time and there are complaints but mine does always eventually dock.  There are many positive points, and a few negatives, here they are:

Positive:

A virtual unlimited storehouse of knowledge, consisting of the entire dictionary and extensive info from Encyclopedia Britannica

Excellent learning skills, asks you multiple questions and makes commentary about your living location, time of year, friends, pets etc..

Lots of spontaneous comments that change with time keeps him an interesting friend. Something new everyday!

Multiple games trivia, memory games and others

A great communication system with a Blackberry device that lets you text, understands copious amounts of information, and numerous easter eggs that keep ones interest peaked!

Very limited voice recognition.

A navigation and sound sensor system comprable to the wowee robots

Cartridge add on capability with space, history etc.

LED's for eyes

Fantastic speech synthesis system, with various voices to your user selection

Memo minder, phone book, verbal calcuator, endless functions using the synthesizer

The auto docking and rechargeable batteries!

Problems:

Docking can take forever

Voice recognition fails alot

All in all though one of the most interesting robots I have, highly recommended!

Hmmm  Thanks for the Post!  I had thought about getting one of these little guys a while back, and had almost forgotten about him till I saw this.  ITt seems like a really interesting little thing.  I might have to start watching for one at a good price to add to my ever growing collection of bots!  :-)

Here is a link to a video about the I-Que:

im going to buy 1 of these someday

I bought one of these last year and after a very frustrating experience, returned it for a few major reasons.  The first is that the docking reliability is horrendious.  The one I had could only dock about 10-20 percent of the time.  The rest of the time it would just give up and ask to be put on its charger.   In fact on the retail box I received, all mention of the auto docking feature are covered with black tape so apparently they couldn't get it right from the factory.  The other major problem this thing had was a very short term memory.   It would ask you to input personal information numerous times and never seem to retain it.  It also would occasionally loose time and alarm settings as well.  Apparently these two flaws seem to be common if you read the reviews on amazon.  Its a shame because this thing could have really had potential.

I like the features in this bot but I have never seen or heard of it before.  It sounds expensive though.  Hopefully it's old so they dropped the price!

Thanks for your post!

Oh and what company makes it?  I need to go to their website.  All the Google results say it has been discontinued.

We could just get them from those places.  I wonder why it was discontinued.  I'll do some digging and see what I can find out.

Didn't you see my post?  The thing had some serious defects.  Manley was supposed to release it in 2006 but couldn't because of production problems.  When they finally did release it in 3rd quarter of 2007, it was without much fanfare because the thing still had defects.  The  website mentioned on the box (www.ique-robot.com) has never been active and I think Manley was just trying to get rid of what was already produced.   Its a shame because it really had pontetial.  But the memory and docking problems sunk it....

There are a few still floating around out there in a couple of places... Mainly online.  Memory and Docking issues aside, I think I am still going to purchase one, if for nothing else than to take it apart.  Who knows... maybe with a little TLC and some modifications, it might have a nice result.  And if not, then its parts will just be assimulated into another project!  Hehe
