With the mouth thats just how its made. It only open on the left side. Personally, I don't like the raptor at all. Maybe it's because I GOT THE BUM DEAL!!

When I'm controller my raptor with the remote to walk him around, while I'm doing so, he'll stop and sniff and start to turn his direction and so on. I'm not putting him into roam mode, just trying to walk him around with the remote.
Is this normal?
It gets a bit annoying when I'm trying to maneuver him around and I keep having to redo moves.
Also, when I have him bite, he doesn't open his mouth, just does the body move lunge. Only seems to open his mouth when his head it to the left. Something to look into?
Thanks.

It may or may not be normal, For example: my roboreptile only opens his mouth during screeching or other such actions, but he does not open it during the bite reaction.

Yup, it's hard linkaged to only open its mouth when the head is turned to its left. I create a thread a while back showing how I fixed a raptor that wouldn't open its mouth. It has pictures showing the mechanism that triggers the jaw opening.
As for the sniffing and direction changes, I think that's the normal operating mode for a moving RoboRaptor. The sensors are detecting something to one side or the other. I don't have a remote for my Raptor, so i haven't explored to many of its manual controls. The manual doesn't appear to reference any way to shut off the obstacle avoidance sensors. I suppose you could cover the nostrils with some tape to try and stop the Raptor from detecting IR signals.
