Nanoscale devices have the potential to radically change cancer therapy for the better and to dramatically increase the number of highly effective therapeutic agents.
nanoparticles are targeted to cancer cells for utilization in the molecular imaging of a malignant lesion. Large numbers of nanoparticles are safely injected into the physical body and preferentially attach to the cancer cells, defining the contour shape of the lesion and making it visible. Since all your quotes are refering to medical applications (ie, putting them inside me), I wouldn't use them unless they had years of pristine treatment history, or I had only a short time to live.
I've read WAY to much sci-fi that involved nanobot's gone bad. Of course the same sci-fi stuff says that AI's are bad, and robots will rise up and try to kill us all.
I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords, whatever scale (mega or nano) they come in.
