Smaller=less expensive to build..... for a given set of mechanical features.

Those servo jointed Lilliputian wonders don't really have limbs that the servos connect to. The servo _is_ the limb. That makes for a relatively low parts count for the product, and simplifies assembly, but it does not scale up so well.
