how about someone manufacturing a deep cycle rechargable ,AA cell , or a lithium ion AA cell, as i only get about 3to5 mins of walking or running with my robo reptile

It would be nice if Wowwee developed a charging system for their robots. However, you will not find a AA cell in Lithium Ion that will work. AA size LIONS produce 3-6 volts per battery. They have more output than standard alkalines. I am hoping they consider some battery modifications for 2008.

I use rechargeable NiMH batteries for all my robots. V2 uses D-batteries called Minamoto (last about 7 days) which are heavy like Duracell. I have used them over a year now and they are still good. 68 euros for batteries and 60 euros for two chargers which can charge AA, AAA, C and D batteries. I have used Varta AAA batteries (900 mah) which lasted 8 months (I charged them at least 3 times in the week). Duracell should be good too. From AA batteries I am using Duracell. Just a week ago I got new AA batteries called ReCyko+ (2050 mah) www.gprecyko.com which seems to be very good. They lasted over two days in my Raptor. ReCyko+ are "always ready batteries" which means that you can charge them and power will not go away even if you do not use them right away. About Hama AA batteries I have to say that they are not good or I have charged them wrong way because they were good just 3 months.

I've been using their stuff for years in Amateur Radio equipment (my callsign: AD5WY; formerly N1EZW, KA1NLE, DA2YO). Its reliable. Batteries NOT cheap, but reliable. Their Ni-CD / Ni-MH chargers are very good, they implement CONTROLLED charging which improves the overall battery life.
I just ordered their latest top of the line multitype/multicell charger and a mess of batteries for my RoboQuad, RoboRemote, and (anticipated) RoboBoa.
BTW: I DO NOT recommend any mod that enables in-gadget charging of batteries! USUALLY, this works ok, but OCCASIONALLY Ni-CD, Ni-MH and Li-ION batteries leak, explode, cause fires when charging. Many (most?) Radio Amateurs charge their batteries EXTERNALLY (if necessary using an aftermarket external charger), rather than dropping a handheld radio into a charging cradle.
