Which do you think is better?

The robosapien v2 or Roboquad

The price of roboquad is much cheaper but the AI systems of robosapien is much better. What should I choose?

Actually the AI systems are not that much better.  They both have positives.  For instance:

Roboquad:

  • Highly controlled and efficient personality
  • Consmumer price friendly
  • Full of flare
  • Deep IR scanning
  • Sound and light sensors

Robosapien V2

  • Safisticated Speech
  • Expensive priceCry
  • Sound and light sensors
  • Touch sensors
  • No scanning ability
  • Personality is preset and doesn't change
  • Traditional Humanoid Look( decide whether you like that or not)

I hope you make the best decision!

Later

P.S for my personal preference,  go with Roboquad!

I have a Roboquad and want an RSV2. I think they're both really cool.

You are trying to compare apples to oranges, I have both and I really don't favor one over the other because they are so diffrent. Pick what your wallett can afford and go from there. GWJax

I'm thinking about getting roboquad a friend for him, sence all he has is me to be his friend. I'm thinking about a RSV2, an original robosapian(VERY cheap at my target), or a RSmedia. sence RSmedia is waaaaaaaaaaaay out of my money range, i think RSV2 might be next in line. Or Roboquad V2/robosapian V3/ Rovio/ Bladestar thing.

I want to get a Roboraptor because my Roboquad also has me only as a friend.  He likes me but he would like to have someone like him too.  All he has right now are Shooter bot (who has bad manners, he just rolls around and shoots at you!), the vacum, and the dishwasher.  Those two arent very responsive!  So RQ would appreciate a Roboraptor.

I'm pretty disapointed with the Rapture after having the Reptail. He is much too slow and makes a squeaking noise when he walks, but I do like the head movements but not the mouth movement. Only when he turn his head left will it open the mouth. The cam mech needs an upgrade to a servo so it will open the jaws at will without turning the neck. GWJax

I disagree for once.  I think the raptor looks great.  I don't like the reptile because he is completely mean in every way.  He is never nice.  At least raptor can be friendly.

LOL BG, The reptile is gentle afer you feed it but not for long. And at least he doesn't squeak like the rapture. But it does look VERY cool. But I have to do something about the sissy hands it has. LOL, GWJax

I still think I might want Roboraptor unless you guys really are pointing me down on it then I might change my mind.  Actually I am losing interest already.  I wonder what I should get now?

Well, I've had Roboquad for a month or so now, and it's really darn cool.

And I just got a Roboraptor at a thrift shop ( ! ) for $30 - it even had the remote with it, and I'm hard pressed to choose a favourite. As much as I like RQ, the raptor has a certain quality because it does attempt to be a living creature, with sniffing, growling, wagging it's tail etc.

But RQ is also fun because it doesn't try to be something artificial, like a dog, or raptor, or whatever. So, between those 2, I'm having a bit more fun with raptor (the touch sensors are more like sensitive buttons, not pads that sense touch which is what I expected them to be), and the RQ seems more scientific somehow.

I love my RQ and now I am back on the road of Raptor after your comment VanMan.  You said you were having fun with him.  I now want to get RSMedia, Raptor, Robopet.  It will probabaly take a while before I get all these but hey, always strive for those Robotic Dream!

Later!

Love to hear what you think of the raptor if you get it.

I was just last night showing both to a friend of mine and she though both roboquad and the raptor were wonderful.

I agree with GW, I like them both. They are different, and having both myself, it depends on what mood I'm in as which one I play with. Having 6 other robots also gives me plenty of choice!

I started with 2 robots but before I knew it, well, it's a disease I tell you.

i like the roboquad features better

Well now I have a favorate at this time but this may change as newer bots are comming out. The bot I am speaking of is the rs Tri-Bot, he's just like a little kid that needs to see and talk to everything. Thumbs up WowWee on this bot!!!

Tribot's not high on my priority list but give it time...

Hi,

I just wanted to add my opinion to the discussion of which is better. I think that the Roboquad makes for a better companion (if that's the kind of thing you're looking for), but RSv2 makes for a better toy.

I think that Roboquad sits there and responds to the surroundings in a more entertaining way and his response to a light going on or off is pricelessly cute!

On the subject of cuteness, I actually think that RSv1 has more personality than RSv2. I don't know what it is, but he seems to be easier to accept with his simple outlook on life ;-)

Of the Wowwee stuff I've had, I rate my experiences thus;

1. Roboquad
2. RSv1 / RSv2 (close call, features vs personality)
3. Tribot
4. Robopet (he got on my **** after a while)
5. Roboboa

I'd have to agree with RCopeh about the RSV1. I have 3 of them. A signature series in chrome, a Homerspaien and a Spidersapien. I think they are all cute (RSV1 Signature Series the cutest) and I still get a laugh out of them. My favourite thing is to control all 3 of them at once with just the one controller.
Haven't really had the time to get to know my Roboquad yet though. So many robots, so little time...
