The power supply does not charge the batteries. (possibility of blowing up non rechargable alkalines etc.) Also, when you plug it up to power the leg motors are disabled so that he won't stroll off your bedside table when it's used as an mp3 player!  Any good electronics or computer store will have a universal power supply with an assortment of different plugs. Just make sure you get one with the correct current rating. Details are given in RSM's book.

I'm not sure a  universal adaptor will be up to the task.

My 2nd hand information is that you need a 7.5Volt adaptor supplying 3.1Amps (3100 ma).

That's not your typical wallwart adaptor. Most of those only put out about half of that current.

The WowWee Store has the RSMedia power brick for sale for $20.

I found a switching power supply with output 5-15V 28W.

If p=vi, that means i = p/v.

Does this mean that at 7.5V, it can deliver 3.73A? To me this seems sufficient, but I'd thought I'd ask first :)

One question about the DC powering.

It seems that the motor responsible for "bowing" is not working. It does work on batteries though ...

It is my understanding that the RS Media disables the leg motors when connected via the power plug. The thought being that it shouldn't be moving around much if it's tethered to a cord. Perhaps that includes the waist motor, too.

Legs AND hips. Otherwise he would rock side to side and risk falling over.

Thanks

Not as good then - as if one will write a program which includes bowing he wouldn't be able to check it's working.

Anyway - good toy
