Why is there so few mods for the RoboQuad other than LED mods because he can do soo much more. Like track down a recharging base, home in on a target and shoot a Laser beam hacked from a 16x speed cdrw led laser that will burn a match or a ballon popping hunt and destroy. Is it because it's soo early in the game with him that not all hackers understand the electronics or just not enough time to hack? Bye the way I'm almost done with the toturial on the battery life indicator mod. so keep looking for it very soon.

Lets start throwing out mods that you would like to see and lets do them and get the RoboQuad awarded most hacks/mod in the WooWee product line.

I agree with you, I love the little robot and would like to see more hacks done with roboquad.

One which I've been thinking of doing is controlling him via a computer.  This would involve having a USB to IR or USB to RF (I don't know what roboquad uses yet), then mapping all the buttons through a program (such as lirc under linux), then we could write longer programs than 40 moves.  Maybe we could even find a way to send information back to the PC from the sensors.

I would be handy to have a wireless camera strapped to the head so that in guard mode you can see who is at the front door or around your property remotely.  Wireless mic would also be a nice mod.  How about hacks to the internal speaks to allow proper voice, this may require extra hardware such as a small low powered computer.

I have a number of hacks on paper for RQ, But unfortunatly I usually run out of time to implement them, I have so many hacks with different bots that I never have time to complete them all. Can someone wind back time for me!!!! I think that Roschlers robodance4 is a good start to controlling RQ and other WowWee bots.

I also have many ideas and parts ready for my little guy (Roboquad that is) but i sure as hell dont have the time, so i am probably going to wait until i have mostly everything ready and do it all at once........

I wish I too could turn back time and do all the mods I have planed for the Quad but Elvis is looking at me and saying "Is it my turn yet?" I also hope that some of you try to post some articles and/or make the comments of some more mods. I do enjoy ripping apart all of the robots and changing them to my liking or helping someone else out on a problem.

For all those that know electronics and make good use of it with mods I say Koodos to you and for those that are learning or want to learn, Get all the books you can and start simple and keep learning like the rest of us. The technology is going so fast it is hard to keep up even with us oldtimers.

I have another article about the Quads remote I hope this helps someone.
