Hi everyone,

I've had the RSV2 since it came out back in mid 2005, I've studyed this robot everyday for the past three years, (trust me you don't want to see my battery bill) the RSV2 has always surprised me by doing new things alot of the time that i never knew were possible. I love my Little Midgetsapien, i've managed to find out that the interactions of Roboraptor, and robopet are based not on I.R activity but on sound sensor activity. I have tryed this experiment dozens of times. if you have an RSV2 put it into roboraptor interaction then after he says "look at the size of that thing!"  Clap hard once he will then say "back back!" then clap again twice, he will then say "fecth me a restrianing hold fast!" clap once after he returns to normal position staring down, then he will say "steddy, dont make him angry" then clap twice, then he will say "back, back" clap twice and he WILL say "I think its working",  "it's Ok" This out come is 100% assured if you follow all aspects of what i said no more no less. No roboraptor needed, now you guys figure out robopet, my hands hurt. Be sure to take a two second pause after each clap.

Just out of curiosity, what happens if your put him in RoboRaptor interaction, and then don't clap but just wait?

It's possible it might use the audio cues as a poor man's random seed to influence which of the two interaction scenarios to play out.

Something of the form

opening dialog

if noise,

then middle dialog A

else middle dialog B

My experiments with it last spring showed that if you initiate the interaction, with no robot to interact with, and quietly watch the interaction play out, it still goes through one of the two scenarios. I'd wondered how it decided which branch to take, but random selections aren't difficult to generate from internal oscillators, either.

if you wait i would asume you will have a "run for your life" but the room needs to be absolutely quite. how do you guys like Midgetsapien?

These interactions are simple one way scripts that don't require any clapping or stomping of feet. Sometimes there are slight variations in the routine but these are random branches. You don't need the other robot to watch the discussion taking place. If you do of course, then the other bot will respond to the IR command given to it. With RS Medias programming it should be possible to get a two way dialogue happening between two RSM's or 1 RSM + RSV2. Will have to look into this a bit more.

try it my way and see the results.

Watch my videos, and see that you don't have to make any noise.

Jurassic-Attack---RSV2-versus-The-RoboRaptor

Both scenarios play out in a quiet room, with the two robots about 12 feet apart.

The sections of the video that consist of the closeups of the RSV2 were done with the RoboRaptor powered off, so there's no chance for influence from the Raptor for those shots. The RSV2 dialog was the same as when the Raptor was turned on.

thats not what I'm trying to say, yes you can do itWithout Noise But I'm sayig that You can Get a Positive Result All the time if you use the method Subcribed.

I guess you're not explaining yourself well enough for me to understand, then.

What do you mean by "positive result"?

All of your clapping appears to be unecessary. Doing absolutely nothing other than starting the interaction with the remote is all that's needed for a complete run through of one of the two scenarios.

Well, being new, I think you both have good ideas and arguments. When I get one, I'll experiment and write back.            P.S. To get the remaining $95 I might sell some stuff on Ebay. Could you guys help? I'll have the same screen name.
