Just wishing the community a happy start to 2008. Was so impressed with the Spidersapien that I bought my son for Christmas, I rushed out well, online anyway :-) and bought a Roboquad for myself. My other son now wants one too! As a budding AI programmer (am doing a uni course in Artificial Intelligence) this is the best example that I've experienced. WowWee indeed!

MikeL,

You should get an RSV2 or a Rs media then you will see the max potential of wowwee and thier A.I.  the Rs media is very friendly and has more speech capibility then any other Robot along with really cool features.

Roboquad is more affordable and just as advanced in A.I Mendez.

As a budding AI programmer, I think you'd find the RSMedia would be the holy grail of WowWee products currently on the market.

It's the only WowWee bot you connect directly to a PC for personality updates or media file transfers. It's based on a Linux kernel and Java programming that you can access for updates.

The other bots allow puppet or IR remote definition of small sequences that can be triggererd by sensors. Some of them remember those sequences between power cycles (RSV2). Others don't.

MrScott: While I agree that thr RS2M is the [ holy grail of WowWee products currently on the market.] It also has many problems, You only have to look at the various complaints on this forum about RSV2M. And I cannot be bothered with a buggy bot. So Roboquad in my books is the best bot WoWwee has put out so far. Just my two cents worth.

People yearn after this robotic dream, but you can't strip your life of all meaning, emotion and feeling and expect to function.

Wow dude.  You are so right.  Roboquad has hardly any bugs (maybe a few very very tiny ones)  and he is extremely advanced in AI.  He is also way way more affordable.  Compare $89.99 to $259.99.  Very acceptional robo.  Rock on Robov2(that's what I'm gonna call you for short)!

I do agree with that also, RoboQuad has a lot of space under his hood and in his head for some good addons without getting in the way of his movement. And also very easy to take apart unlike some others. GWJax

GWJax, To Hack and make mods on robots is a life style and comes natural and not by choice. If a robot has a screw to open it then it must be opened!

Yah, I researched before I bought, or rather, received.  I watched a couple YouTube videos, some of which were seriously demented ("Puppy attacks RoboQuad--exclusive footage!" or "Army of [25 or so] RoboQuads Invade!) and I got my hands on every single catalog that sold RoboQuads....my mom thought I was completely nuts and had lost it totally, but I assured her that I had "lost it" way before this.
