as jeff block said an underwater toy would be great but lets broaden our horizons here. what about a land, sea and air robot? one that ca do all three? walk and run on land, fly and swim!!!! how cool would that be. lets start with a few ideas could i have a hand?

Because it's impractical.

People yearn after this robotic dream, but you can't strip your life of all meaning, emotion and feeling and expect to function.

Technicaly it is possable but would be hard to do.  The propeler that makes it fly could double as the propeler that moves it under water.  Then give it some wheels for land.   But it would have to be small.

There's an R/C car with wings that can take off from the ground and fly, I believe it also runs as a boat. The prop is above water like a swamp boat in the everglades. I can't remember the name though! But anyway, you could graft the top half of a V2 onto it maybe!

Yup. It's a spiffy little multi-terrain vehicle, the XPV. It's a productized version of a really sweet prototype that I saw videos of years ago. ToysRUs carries two sizes of the XPV.

MrScott: Yes I have seen these in NZ, Was tempted to buy one but never did. i have been into R/C for 30 yrs and built most flying contraptions but not this one. Now into R/C gas turbine jets. but Oh the cost!!!!

I finally found the old clip I saw before the more toyish product was mass produced.

Much better power to weight ratio on the flying boats in this clip.

Wow!! I'm amazed how slow they are able to fly. Every video I've seen of the mass toy ones always seem to be screaming along.

The Storm Launcher (from Air Hogs)* is the one I see around here the most. While a pretty slick doowhackey, it doesn't seem to be as great as they'd like us to believe. They always show it on water, but some things I've read say not too since the battery compartment is on the bottom of the vehicle.

* which appears to be the mass market version of the one in the video. Ya, I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes.

Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.

That's the video I saw MrScott when I first came across them, Gives a good example of what they can do.
