At current there is no way to bypass sleep mode. Its probably not imposible, just no one has done it.

hi

nocturnal it may not be posible to bypass sleep mode . but i think that YOU could change it's time

maybe  extend  the time befor it's kicks in , so 3 becomes 30 or 300. if  you could just change the code at start up..................... but i don't no much.........so may be not

i still believe

i wonder how you do that?

well.......That Takes time, money, and about a year or two in robotics. its hard if not impossible to explain.

well surley there would be some kind of config file somewhere that may state someting like sleep = 10, (or something to that effect..... ) surley you would be able to change that value to maybe sleep = 100, i just dont know where to start to look.........i cant se how it would be impossible to explain.

surley someone else has at least tried this....     cause its not much of a device if it cant be altered.

Mabey some MODERATOR or Michelle (the "inside" girl) can purpose this to Wow Wee and give us a clear answer:

A funny thing happend to my rs ,he did not go into sleep mode ,anyway one of his foot senors was pushed in a little by one of my son's toys. pulled him back a little and 3 min's later out like a light.

so if you put RS in gaurd mode and taped down a foot senors he may not go into sleep mode......?

but my rs is not booting up properly at the moment so (A) can't get it in to gaurd mode and (B) don,t know if this is part of my RS's problem.........oh well?

i still believe

That actually seems to work.....i taped up all 4 sensors.....and pluged rs media into ac power ......and no sleep........ in any mode....   :)

he laughs occasionally but thats easy enough to over come.....Im going to experiment a bit more and see if all 4 sensors need to be on.....i have a feeling that its only the rear ones that have to be on.....

give it a try.. hopefully all rs medias will do the same

LOL Great... now the only question is: Can RS Media possibly suffer from sleep deprivation? LOL Stay tuned to find out! ;-p

No, but seriously, can prolonged power via the A/C port possibly harm any of the sensors or chips?  Is it possible that staying juiced up can burn out or wear down internal parts?  Or, Can he over heat?

i guess ill find out.... he has beeen on all day........no problems so far....except after a few hours his voice becomes a bit annoying....   Yell I cant see it happening though.......my kids played with him all day when i first got him and he didnt overheat

Actually, WowWee had to put sleep mode in all of their robots to keep them from becoming self aware and rebelling. The forced down time forces them to backslide down to the their factory fresh IQ.

By hardwiring them to perpetual alertness, you have doomed us all. We'll be hearing about the robot uprising any day now....

Good thing I got this survival guide for Christmas...

There should be no problem with him not going into sleep mode. The main purpose of sleep mode is to save batteries. Prolonged external power won't hurt him, if it did, even sleep mode wouldn't save him (since in sleep mode he's still powered, just one of his cpu's is in standby mode).

Your mistaken Mr Scott, sleep mode isn't protection against a RS Media becoming self aware and going rogue, its the fact that his internal memory is only good for about 100,000 writes. Once he becomes self aware and starts to learn, his brain will be swiss cheese withing a matter of hours.

Same thing happened to Rutger Hauer. Foot in mouth
