My sister has one too. We have been playing with it and I don't think it interacts with anything. If it does, we haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Hey I'm a Newby wondering about Roboquad. I got one for xmas. I was wondering if Roboquad would be able to interact with any of the other wowwee robots. If anyone has information let me know. It would be cool to have roboquad interact with another bot.

Yeah you might be right. I want to see if it does really bad. It's a big interest to me. Maybe if I get another like RS Media . But until then my hopes dwindle.
Later.

As far as I know there is on interaction with any other bots. Sorry, But once again it sounds like another mod to be made... GWJax

Sorry GW Jax but I'm not a genius like you and I don't think I can Mod RQ. If you get anymore info keep me posted! THX!

Later!will do. but I think if you did a little trial and error in the electronics mods you'd get the hang of it. just start simple with some harmless led mods. I do Agree with you about the roboquad being great without mods but there is always some room for improvements. good luck and If I can help in any way just let me know. GWJax

Actually I'm scared to do it. I mean let me tell you I'm a kid and I'm pretty good at tools but I just think I might break it or something. I could do it if I wanted but I just am not comortable with myself doing that. Give me a walkthrough very simple mod and I will consider it. I'm doubtful though.

I just remembered this is about Roboquad RoboFamily interaction. We are getting off topic. Do we have any more ppl who have info?

Robo BG: Follow this tutorial and you will have a great mod to be proud of. It's not hard to do if you follow the guide. If you can use a soldering iron with confidence and you are familiar with eletronic components you will be fine. If NOT then don't mod it.

I'm sorry to say I'm not really that good with a soldering iron and I do know some about electronic componets but not enough to understand the inner wiring and circuit boards of a robot. I have never moded before. If I mod it wont be on Roboquad. All I'm doing with him right now is getting him Rechargable Nickel Metal Hydryd 1.5 V batteries. Plus a recharger. Nothing more.

good luck in finding the ni-mh batteries in 1.5V. they are 1.2V . I think thats what you meant right? GWJax

If you want to try a first easy mod, do roboquad mini. do something like make his eyes black. no wiring there.
also, i'm new. hi everyone
Last words I said to my Roboquad:

Remember the roboquad. I miss him.
1.2v NIMH work just fine , no problem at all.

Yea I know they will work just wanted Robo BG to know that so he did not try too look for 1.5v NI-MH batteries. by the way check out my article on memory monitor. its a nick little feature that can fit in any of the robots. GWJax

Roboquad takes six 1.5 volt C batteries to make into 6 volts of power. I meant 1.5 V.

the NI-MH batteries come in 1.2V but the current is what you are looking for 1500 mAh or higher. RoboQuad really does not run on 6Volts it is broken down to 4volts and 3volts. 4 volts for the motors and 3v for the sensors and memory. Thats why you can run the 1.2 which will = 4.6 volts but with a greater current it will keep running longer at the same voltage. plus the regular battries only have their peek voltage for a little while and then will level out at around 1.2v for a while before the current complety empties out. I hope this helps you understand a little. GWJax

here is pic of a D size NI-MH battery notice the voltage rating.

Ohhhhhhh! I get it!(which is weird since I am a kid(I must be a real dork) you know?) Since teh Ni-Mh batteries only come in 1.2v then that works to level the current out near 5v. The six volts is split up over different functions of Roboquad. Even though the 1.2v equal out lower than 6v it is a stronger current of chemical running through the battery giving it the effect of six volts. Surprisingly I understand it. Thank my dad for that!

to put it another way voltage is like a tank of water and current is the pump that pushes the water out of the tank. Inbetween them are pipes that are at a smaller diameter and thus has resistance and limits the flow of water. in electronics term a resistor does that. I hope that also make sence to you. and remember in order to have a higher current you will lose voltage hence Ohm's Law E=IR where E=voltage and I= Current and R= Resistance. check up on this and do a little math and you'll see what i'm talking about. A really good Book to learn the basics is Electronics for Dummies. It will get you started in the right direction and when you are ready you can do some mods. And you thought you would not use that much math in school right? lol GWJax

LOL. Actually I'm going back to school on the 7th.
So I will be doing alot of math. O boy. There goes my relaxation time. Ugh.
