That is so funny! But will that damage the mechanism in RoboQuad?

I noticed the same thing yeserday after I tore open the box to my roboquad (WowWee really like secure packaging, dont they... its like a fight just to open the little fella).

I wasnt sure if it was due down to the fact that I used rechargable batteries, and thus the balance might be off, but my roboquad tips over most often when just moving the legs first time (ie: when you move both right legs in, then both left legs in, he tips over).

sometimes I get quite worried... the stress put on one of those joints when tipping over, I swear I heard a crack once or twice.

i tested it yet again , it happens when the roboquad is on a silky surface , carpet , mattress , blanket etc. It works fine on the floor.

One has to wonder what type of testing goes on before a public release of products from WowWee.

People yearn after this robotic dream, but you can't strip your life of all meaning, emotion and feeling and expect to function.

No I notice it not when the Right and Left legs are moved in but if you move in all induvidual legs.  And yes to and earlier question that is mainly a problem to the head because it hits the floor and it can break the neck joints.  It actually warns you in the manual that turning all legs under Roboquad will cause him to loose balance.  But if you put both right legs in (Shift Amber Right) and both left legs in (Shift Amber Left) he does not loose balance.  Only when  all the inducidal legs are moved in.  Try to avoid this and read the manual carefully for these warnings.

Too funny, The Quad is really robust, It will not harm the electronics or the joints in the neck unless he falls down the stairs or off a table with some good height. So have fun knocking him out. I know I will. GWJax

I noticed this problem too. But putting him into High Stance (Shift red -> Awareness) is OK. Also, his bottom neck joint is motor-free. It's spring-powered. See for your self. Here's a picture: picture  He does, however, have a motor at the top of his neck and at the base of his neck (the left-right one).

You nailed it Robofan6, he also has VR's on the motors as well. Just to let you know incase you have not opened him up yet. GWJax

I know why the neck moves.  It's for the packaging obviously.  He doesn't actaually move it and He came like that in the box.
