thcrw739: What is this dog you are talking about? I'm curious... Can you link to some pictures or something?

Google is your friend

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2000/09/... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tomy-50116660...

I hope they fired whoever came up with the name "Dog.com" for a product. I'd probably feel different if they actualy owned the dog.com domain.

I'll be taking some photos and small movies of it soon, as im creating a website about the piticular bots i own....

Sort of reminds me of the I-cybie i have but with less leg movement but more should i say "brains" for speach... and i swear the sucker can hear me flush the toilet from across the house...very sencitive hearing..

has eight sensors. one on the head for petting, and if you hit it instead f petting it the dog will complain  and say ouch or somthing like that...

more later....

First of all, sony dosen`t make the i-dog, and second of all, this bot is nothing like the i-dog.  The i- dog is little more than speakers hooked up to 2 motors and LEDs- it dances and plays music.  I`m guessing you ment I-cybie or AIBO.

Hi, sorry for that. It is a Tomy dog.com. You can find more info here: http://www.robgibo.com/archive/projects/dogcom/frontdoor.htm

A friend gave me this dog, it is working perfectly but does not walk  , this is why I need the  manual.

I did find that site... which was actually why I decided I wanted one :)

I am in the process of trying to get one as I type. If I do, and you still need the manual, I will be happy to scan it for you.

My Dog.com finally arrived! I forgot that he was coming from across the pond in the UK. I love his British accent! Small problem - the charger is UK 220 volt. No big deal, his battery is a standard 6v pack. I can charge that standing on my head.

The 'instruction leaflet' that she shipped with it is quite lacking. So I emailed her and she said that she found another set that she is sending. In the meantime, here is what I do have...

Hints And Tips

and

Instruction Leaflet

If and/or when I get the rest I'll let you know.

Hi RebelTaz,
I am glad that your dog arrived and thanks for the links.
I agree with you about the instruction leaflet. It is quite lacking.
Can your dog walk?

Thanks again

January 31, 2010 12:37 PM

No he doesn't :( And I know it's not a problem with the motors, because he sits down and stands up fine... Hopefully the set she is sending will be more informative!

Can someone post a YouTube video showing us what it does? We're waiting! Shouldn't this also be moved to "General Robotics"? Thanks!
