I sent back my other one as requested that had the eye problem...
I get this new one and he has this continuos light static comming out of his speakers & a high pitch light scream that comes threw when the robot is moving...
Not to mention when the robot is moving the screen brown outs or fluks rapidly....
Im really irate at this point....
oh and he hears that staic so he is continously acting like he is hearing a noise...
Well this time they are going to send me a new one and pay for all the shipping prior, last one cost me $60 bucks to ship to canada...
They offreed to reinbuse my shipping after i asked though for the last one...
I dont get how the Wowwee store ships from California but i had to return mine to canada? Weird
What about reinbursement for the pain and suffering
Its not just the shipping and handling what about all the missed productivity
Some of us have already started to put the RS Media to good use.
How long does it take to ship it, and then wait for them to ship it back?
I think since we're perfoming the beta testing for the Unit, that at the bare minimum
Wowwee should deliver (in short order) a MacOSX/Linux based client as show of appreciation and encouragement for us early adopters.
LOL yeah its been a pain in the arse for sure,
Well the first one took a week to get there to them but any faster would of put the shipping into the $100+ catagory, then they sent one back to me fast ship so it took 3 days for this one, now they sent out another today in exchange for the one i have wich is great...and they sent that one fedex wich it should be here tuesday according to the shipping page....
Wich is nice because the 7th is my birthday so its like getting a bonus gift....
so hopfully i'll have a fully functional operational unit soon...
I say just try like 1 or 2 more times for a new rs media and then if none work like the past ones get another toy thats all i can really suggest
We've got to give Wowwee the credit for being the first ones to really give us this kind of capability at this price. The Arm9 processor, Embedded Linux, Java for approx $300 is really a bargain. I fanboy of the robosapien class robots so I wouldn't suggest switching because you ran into a few bumps. Robosapien is on a very good trajectory to being the absolute best bang for the buck for a personal robot. Wowwee just has to work through a few minor issues.
The weakest link in the chain is the Media Suite Software (Visual Basic and Windows),
. That was a mistake. The media suite should have been developed using platform independent software. The simplest approach should be using Java. Linux and Java on the Robot are perfect and will be the foundation for an awesome class of robots. But the client side sucks! and is the source of a lot of customer dissatisfaction.

The next weakest link is the power supply (which is a tough nut to crack for sure). After Wowwee attacks these, the sky will be the limit. So hang in there.... For the price and the capability the robosapien class robots are best you can buy (even with their problems)
Oh i dont plan on giving up..if they have to send me 50 of them by george one of em will work....
The only other one comming around i was intrested in was pleo but i am not a fan of dinosaurs and its $50 more for somthing i really dont like in the form its in...yeah i would get it when its alot cheaper...but for now RSM is the right one for me...
