Only WowWee would be able to give you a definative answer on that.
Firmware versions can be checked through the menu (I forget where exactly and I don't have my RSM handy), hardware versions will probably require one to partially dismantle the RSM to find out. WowWee usually uses a numbering system on their circuit boards that goes something like productnumber-boardnumber-revisionletter. Firmware can be updated, as long as revised hardware isnt involved, if revisised hardware is involved, it will depend entirely on what the hardware changes are.
