I am trying to use the extension. I mostly code in C++, so they don't let me do a lot of Java at work. I have been dying to really get into using Netbeans, but I also am using a Mac at home since August and really don't want to work on my PC. ( It is 5 years old and has only 512Meg of ram, so I'm afraid it won't run Netbeans very well). I suppose I could install Solaris on it, but I would have to gut a lot of stuff that has been building on it for a long time. I got netbeans installed and tried to add the .nbm modules. The com.sun.robot.nbm does not want to load. When I tried to start Netbeans again, it says Warning - could not install some modules: Humanoid Robot Control Library - The module named org.netbeans.modules.kjava.j2meplatform was needed and not found. Humanoid Robot Control Library - The module named org.netbeans.modules.kjava.j2meproject was needed and not found. 3 further modules could not be installed due to the above problems. I have downloaded the CDC module and looked at it and was even able to install it by hand, but there does not seem to be a .nbm file for it. My knowledge of the .nbm file is non-existent. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to install Netbeans and the Netbeans mobility pack for CLDC (not CDC, in case you installed that one). Both are available from www.netbeans.org and install automatically. Afterwards, if you follow the instructions given in the RS Media Java SDK docs, the additional Netbeans modules should work.

Hi!

I have installed the netbeans ide 6.0 and the mobility pack is also there in it. according to the instructions in the robot control development module document, i need to go to the update center in the tools menu, but there isnt any such option. so i went into plugins, and i selected the downloaded plugins tab, and tried to install the modules that came in the cd, but then, it gives an error, which is this.

Missing required modules for Plugin Humanoid Robot Control Library:

module org.netbeans.modules.kjava.j2meplatform > 1.1.5
module org.netbeans.modules.kjava.j2meproject > 1.1.6

please let me know what i should do. i am working on windows vista. and i have downloaded the ide and mobility pack about 5 times now, but stil the problem exists.

thank you

I have the same problem.  I am running Windows XP.  I installed JDK 6 Update 3, then Netbeans Mobility.  I get the same error.

Same problem. Who can help with this? How do we get Netbeans 6.0 working? Thanks!

I'll try the NetBeans 6 install (I'm on XP SP2) but I already have NB 5.5 up and running, so I don't know if that'll make a difference.

I installed Netbeans 5.5 and it works.

Yes, that's the thing, something changed in the 5.5->6.0 version update so it no longer works... Unless you're saying you put 6 on top of 5.5 and now 6 works?Smile

Who wrote the libraries? Sun or WowWee? Can we contact anyone about this? I really don't want to install both 6 and 5.5 on my laptop, and I need to have 6 on for work compatibility.

Or maybe just copying the 5.5.1 jar files would suffice. I think I'll try that out.

The libraries came from Sun and as I understand, WowWee is running into roadblocks with Sun so not much is moving there. I have the same symptoms with NetBeans 6, no solution in sight. I still have 5.5.1 installed and operable at the same time on my machine, but I don't see any way to import the modules. Sorry guys, I'm not much help!
