i have a robosapien v2 that is red. well i also have a robopet that is green. in robosapiens manual it says that if he sees anything green he will assume that it is his bowling ball. i want robosapien and robopet to interact, but i am afraid that robosapien will attempt to throw robopet. Any suggestions?????

Well when Robosapien V2 interacts with other robots he is not using his camera. He is using the infa red sensors. So just put to interact with the ohter robos and no problem. If you will put him in front of a green Robo without giving the command to interact probably RS V2 he will think that the other green robo is his ball.

Just turn off v2's vision sensors.  see the manual for how to do that

Robosapien wont even be traking the color in an interaction and if you read the guide he needs to flinch(say ahhh while bending back alittle)but thats only if you put it next to his face

P.S.even if RSV2 saw robopet on the floor he would have to pick him up and toss him (which wont happen)and ecen if it does just hit the stop button or move him away or hit his power butten (which wont need to be done)

The only thing you have to worry about is rsv2 walking and kicking robopet, not that he will by mistaking him for a ball but because robopet is not big enough to be seen by the infored sensors.

Robosapien V2 will not think Robopet is a dog. (RSV2 is to weak to even throw him) Use the interaction command (see manual) and he will send signals making robopet to this or that, not act like he is an object.

Sounds like you didn't read the manual.

Welcome to the community, Marv Jr.

Glad to see you've found your way to us.

You may want to take a good look at post dates in threads before replying. I realize it's all new to you, but some of these are kind of done and over with.

In this case you're resurrecting a thread from 9 months ago. A thread that the original creator didn't post to after his initial question.

you know some people do check their messages just because they want to see what other people have had to say. thank you to everyone who gave me their advice. to the last person who mad a comment i am a girl so it would have been "her initial question" not his initial question. once again thank you to everyone who gave me advice on getting my robopet and rsv2 to interact.

Point taken. I'll try to be more gender neutral.

I'm glad you came back to update the thread, Rjessup. It's the only way the people who answer questions can tell that you got anything out of the thread.

Not to be a jerk, but people posting here could put a little bit of effort into letting others know what gender they are if it matters to them so much. rjjessup is a totally neutral name, has no avatar, no notes on her profile page, no indications whatsoever for me to know she's a she, except for that one post up there that only seems to be found in a thread I happened to read for some random reason.

I'm not a sexist person. Chances are pretty good though that people posting on a robotics forum are going to be male. Obviously not always, but if you're the kind of person who is going to be offended that a person who's never met you and knows nothing about you might refer to you as "he", let us know ahead of time that you're not. It sure didn't take me long to write the words "stay at home dad" on my profile page.

Watch out, don't step in the anthropomorphization.
