Hi to all members.

I am new one here and I am from Greece.I'm experiencing problem with the speaker of my robopet.I have the robot for 2 weeks and now the sound is distorded like the peak level of a line mixer. Is it possible to put by my own a simple speaker like for example from an old PC and work fine with robopet?   My robopet it plays the sound like is very loud and you can't hear clear the sounds from him.I know about electronics a little bit. What you suggest?

Regards

Well, if you do that you would void your warrenty.  technicaly you should be able to return robopet for a relacement or a refund.  I only recomend doing it youself ONLY if you know what you are doing.  If you bridge anything on the circuit bord you will rouin robopet so be careful when you sauder the knew speaker in.

Well I called Wow Wee and the good news is that they will send me for free a new speaker for Robopet.I know about electronics and modifications so its very easy for me to replace it

yes if you do put a new speaker you will void the warrenty and we are not responsible for jack. instead return it for a new one instead of taking the risk of scwing up

As I said its very easy to replace it.In the place where the speaker is it has only the motors for the behind legs.As for warranty already works 1 month and its ok.Only the speaker it was wrong. So no problem

your right it is a very easy thing t do. If Woo Wee sends you a speaker then it will come with the wires attached to it and all you have to do is plug it into the spk jack. Just a quick check incase you have not recieved the speaker yet have you tested the speaker? you can plug an 8 ohm speaker in the jumper connector labled SPK. The VDD "the Yellow wire"is the ground connection and the Out "the Green wire" is the + side of the speaker. But with a speaker only, I have not had any problems connecting them up backwards as long as the speaker is not connected to a cap or anything else. Try this if it still does not work then its in the electronics. More like a leaky Cap. Let me know what you find out and if is not the speaker then I will trace down the boards audio circuit and help you repair the board.
